Just a Redshank I know, but you can't always get close to them. Taken on a hot quiet summers afternoon it came at times to close as I stayed hidden in the long grass. One of my best moments of the year, lets hope for more in 2018. I wish you all a Happy and safe New Year.

While out for my morning walk with the dog, we came upon this deer that ran into the woods. Quite honestly this was at the furthest extent of my camera's range, so I put it in teleconverter mode to gain 1.7x more focal length. Plus it was still a bit low light, so not the best image, but hey, I'll take it!
