3:52 - experimenting with camera motion. Also experimenting with courage as I wandered around the lonely woods at dusk. I don't think I would ever have taken an image like this had it not been for this group so thank you comrades :) I have to say it just felt wrong as my every instinct is to hold the camera as still as possible.

50:52 Nostalgic

This week's theme was very timely as my husband and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary earlier this week. Best 24 years of my life and saying 'I do' was the best thing I ever did.

Pictured here are our wedding rings.

2:52 Mono

I must say processing mono photos has me quite out of my comfort zone.

As mentioned previously, I have been quite inspired over the last month by leaves, especially ones well past their prime.

While out exploring our backyard down the coast, this and several other brown and dried Geranium leaves on the ground caught my eye, mainly because of their beautiful curls, textures and shapes. I thought this one with it's furry details made for a perfect mono.

So two out of two themes first up this year have been leaves, I promise to mix it up a little next week!

1/52 for The 52 Weeks photo Challenge - Beauty's nothing.

This is my (probably very shallow) interpretation of the theme. I think that we (ladies) generally feel a bit more beautiful and confident with a bit of lippy on! This is probably a safe option for me too as I do an awful lot of product style shots. I have also done a similar shot before, during my 365 last year...pic in comments, but I feel I have improved since then and I think that is what the group is about too. So I hope this is an acceptable pic for the challenge. Sorry to double up on week one too, it just makes it a bit easier for me with the 366. I will try to stretch myself and go out of my comfort zone a bit more through the year...maybe when the weather improves!

48:52 Raindrops

We’re having some unseasonably hot weather here of late . . . while the official beginning of Summer is only just over a week away, temperatures for November have been consistently 10 degrees above average over the past 10 days and in the mid to high 30’s (celsius). I think we’re in for a long hot Summer which is not great, when you’re not a fan of the heat like me!

Last Saturday afternoon after another hot day, huge thunderstorms arrived and with it lots of rain! I took the opportunity to head out with my camera, knowing that any rain in the coming week was highly unlikely and as I stepped out my front door my beautiul red poinsettia, which a dear friend had given me only days before, was glistening with silvery rain drops after the downpour!

I must admit it was a toss up between this image and my previous one for this week's theme but I am always a sucker for red!

A big thank you to all of the lovely ladies in this wonderful group firstly for the invite and secondly for making me feel so welcome.

4:52 Abstract and Conceptual

A big thank you to Andrew who is the master of digital art for the Photoshop lesson on 'how to' for this one. It is very much appreciated and just a little addictive too.

This is an adaptation of an original image I took on our recent Christmas break in Apollo Bay.

11:52 Something I Love

There are so many things I love, first and foremost are my husband and my pooches, family and special friends . . . I love the beach, the sea, the sky, the ocean, spaghetti (love spaghetti), fashion, fast cars, travel and shoes . . . I could go on and on but I guess what I am saying is that I love life.

For this weeks theme of 'Something I Love' I have decided to focus on one of the many things I love about my husband and that is his continual thoughtfulness.

I love collecting feathers whenever I am out and about and over the last few weeks while out walking our pooches he has been collecting them for me too . . . all different shapes and sizes and colour variations. I will often come home from work and he will have left them on my keyboard or on my dresser, somewhere he knows where I will discover them which I always do, and with great delight! My most recent favourite is a beautiful collection of owl feathers (or at least I think that's what they are).

I said to him one day, next I want you to find me a red feather, I was joking of course but the very next day he returned home from his walk with these gorgeous, large red, feathers.

I couldn't believe it! What are the odds? . . . probably a little higher than usual as the previous day there had been the Pride March in St.Kilda and no doubt these had been part of someone's outfit but still I never expected him to return home with red feathers especially ones as beautiful and elegant as these. They are a vibrant red with streaks of black and at the base they are a beautiful iridescent green throughout too. Just amazing.

Next I said I want you to find yellow ones and the very next day on my way home from work what did I find . . . a beautiul large yellow feather . . . probably more remnants from Pride but yellow nonetheless!

Sometimes you just have to ask the universe and your husband and together they deliver!

52:52 Music

This also wasn't what I had intended for the this weeks theme but when I saw this busker, as I walked on my way home from work to the station I thought he looked very cool . . . almost like Jimmy Hendrix only with slightly longer hair!

On a much sadder note this was also the very location where just a week later in Melbourne, a crazed driver deliberately charged at pedestrians with his vehicle terrifying Christmas crowds and workers and seriously injuring 19 people, a couple who are still fighting for life. He has since been charged with 19 counts of attempted murder. So sad and terrifying at anytime but especially at Christmas.

I don't want to end this post on a sad note and so I want to wish all of my wonderful Flickr friends and their families a wonderful and safe and happy Christmas and I look forward to catching up with all of you in the new year as I have limited internet access at the moment.

Merry Christmas!

of a story, a strong sense of geometry and evokes an emotion in the viewer.

I took this last week in Dublin and so I don't know this little boy, his parents, who are just out of shot, had brought him to the park on his bike to feed the birds :)

Starting my #52weeksphotochallenge of posting at least one photo a week.

They're back baby!

Week 6/52. Red flowers. In time for Valentine's day. Getting ready for a romantic week. The rain is still here making everything fresh and clean. Enjoy your week everyone!

Week 8/52. Morning pancakes. Nothing says weekend like fluffy pancakes, sausage and delicious maple syrup. #weekend #breakfastofchampions #cozy #52weeksphotochallenge

Here's to more light and love in 2017.

------

This week the theme of the 52WeeksPhotoChallenge (norberteder.photography/gute-fotos-training/) was "sport" and since I didn't have time for my planned climbing picture, I spontaneously decided to do a photo shoot on the slackline.

Esta última semana he estado de vacaciones por Galicia y Portugal, por lo que subo ahora la foto de la semana pasada (tarde, como no), e intentaré ir subiendo otras aparte del reto fotográfico.

____

This last week I've been on vacation in Galicia and Portugal, so I upload now the photo from last week (late, of course), and I will try to upload other photos than the photographic challenge.

Some time ago I started wanting to make a photographic challenge, but knowing myself I was clear that I was going to abandon it as I did seven years ago with the 365 project. In spite of that I decided to give it a try and see how long I will last with this weekly challenge that I have customized, in alphabetical order and with great ideas (in my opinion) that I hope will be carried out.

This is not the photo I wanted to start the project with (it's not even made with a camera or one of those great ideas), but given the family and personal circumstances of this week, it's the one that best portrays the first week of this 2018, marked by a layer of thick fog on the shoulders that prevents seeing beyond the cold and loneliness.

Week 9/52 Greenery. I love that my wife fills our place with small touches of greenery, especially in the office. #Flickr Friday. #Cache

Week 3/52 Fresh and Clean Love the rain. #liveonpurpose #52weeks #52weeksproject #52weeksphotochallenge #rain #larain #resolutions #homeiswheretheartis

These three little tins of Indian spices have travelled with me and been refilled hundreds of times since 1978 - they have the original price tags on the lids - one is 17p!! Which was probably quite expensive 36 years ago......

They've certainly spiced up my culinary life in all those years, and are probably some of the oldest items in my possession.

when thinking of the theme, black and white objects kept popping in my head. chess board - couldn't find one, black and white tiles on Gardner street - wasn't interesting enough, yin yang made out of black and white rocks - would be nice, but.. out of many options i ended up with the one that tells a story and is very dear to me. i took a picture of a black and white picture which was taken and developed by my dad in 1994. here's myself and my little sister posing with one of the chickens that my parents decided to grow in a garage (ouch!). luckily their hearts and common sense spoke to them immediately and this was the first and last time of chicken keeping. poor chick, must have been so scared..rip.

being far away from my childhood home made this challenge a bit trickier. this is a recreation of a childhood memory i have, except that the egg holder i ate from was white and plastic with some plating area around for shells and rye bread had no seeds, it was plain dark bread with butter and just a boring ordinary shape. shortly, in those days it wasn't as colorful and fun for kids :]

a very busy train station near the Berlin Wall. i like how the guy with the mobile is being framed by the movement around him. at the same time he contrasts the feeling of rush.

taking this picture first thing in the morning was a great way to start the day. good morning sunshine with the crystal piglet. i love to be woken up by the sun streaming in through my bedroom window.

i feel like the Level since its renewal has become such a great great place . i have always been especially drawn to the skate park but never got to really stop and explore. as an ex teenage skateboarder in its very soviet ways I had to choose this picture which shows the only girl on ramps giving it a go, falling down and getting back up to do it again and again. girl power!!

in 1933 pilots S. Darius and S. Girėnas made history by being the first Lithuanians to fly over the Atlantic. 10 litas note commemorates the event. in 2015 euro takes over. the end.

March 11th is a big day for me. firstly, it's Lithuanian Independence Day and, more importantly, it is my little sister's birthday. so today i am celebrating freedom and love in the most obvious symbolic way

digging deeper in the body.. and while doing that i wonder how the symbol of heart ended up looking like this.. will google some day. meanwhile i'll keep on wondering

this one is to celebrate my oldest friendship with the model who I've known for 24 years now.

i grew up in block houses and staircases used to be an everyday thing, but for the past nine years, after living in the UK, it's been a rare occasion to come across more than three floors. today i got to visit a really cool building with a cool triangular staircase in Hove and it had an old school lift too!

i was visiting Berlin last week for a couple days. this word kept on confusing me and i kept on trying to pull instead of pushing. it's the sound of it i think. luckily this door at the Jewish Museum cleared it all out for me.
