Week 10: Abandoned
I went for a photo walk around work this week and found some really cool old warehouses and deteriorating studio spaces/buildings. This rusted out AC unit really caught my eye. The building it lives on is real a mish mash of random pipes, cables and things like this AC unit. It's super interesting to look at. Just make sure your tetanus shots are up to date before handling that thing! Yikes!

This is my dad's old SLR camera that he gave to me. He bought it back in 1979. It's now 40 years old. It's the first thing that popped into my head for this week's prompt. I've wanted to take a photo like this for a while. I wanted to combine two things I really enjoy; photography and nature. I've always really liked the look and feel of this camera. I haven't actually thrown a roll of film in it yet, but that's on my to do list. I hope to get around to it in the near future.

Week 13: Line From A Song
I knew right away which song I wanted to draw inspiration from for this week's challenge. I chose "I Can Feel It Coming In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins. Aside from having one of the most iconic drum fills in music history, it's a dark, moody and haunting experience. How do you visually convey "feeling something in the air"? This is where my mind wandered off to, while listening to the song.

I am often drawn to this beat-up old Ford Maverick from the 1970s whenever I happen upon this particular parking lot. I'm pretty sure it still runs and still gets driven, as I have seen it in different parking spots. Even though it's not in the greatest shape, a car that has survived almost 50 years, especially in a place where "real" winters exist, is pretty uncommon.

This is an idea I had to play around with positive and negative space. As humans, we like symmetry and search for patterns. I wanted to create symmetry with the lines, but then create a little bit of chaos when the eye follows the lines to the subjects. While not your conventional leading lines style photo, I had fun with it.
