This weeks pick for 52 frames weekly challenge - Abandoned
This is a shot that I originally took about a year ago in our local cemetery during one of our camera club walkabouts. I always liked the concept but was never happy with certain elements of the shot. So last night after work I went back to the cemetery hoping against hope that the bear would still be there and he was! He was looking even more abandoned and forlorn.
I like this version much better. Still strangely feel sorry for the bear though.

My grandma lives alone in a very old and poor house for about 20 years after her husband died. I try to visit her as I can. She is the most abandoned person I know and the most warm and heartful :( Unless someone visit her every next day is the most loneliest day in her life. But nevertheless she prays to survive one more day to once again feel grateful, dream of and talk with her far away family. This is the real person that in a silence of her dark cold room begs God for all my success and providence I very often do not deserve. Thank you my beloved grandma!

Week 10: Abandoned
How uncertain can be the life of a newspaper in the underground! In one day, it has many friendly hands that take it and read it with interest, travels throughout the city, lives in the rush of the morning, listens to all kinds of banal and deep conversations, even he can flirt with some beautiful and interesting magazine on the longest rides.
However, at the end of the day, the poor newspaper is left alone and nobody wants to read this piece of outdated paper anymore. So, abandoned on the platform, he dreams of a new life in which to be able to reincarnate (recycle) into something more useful and beautiful. Maybe it could be in a precious art catalog, although it could also be in a roll of toilet paper... that's life! :))
Week 10: Abandoned
I went for a photo walk around work this week and found some really cool old warehouses and deteriorating studio spaces/buildings. This rusted out AC unit really caught my eye. The building it lives on is real a mish mash of random pipes, cables and things like this AC unit. It's super interesting to look at. Just make sure your tetanus shots are up to date before handling that thing! Yikes!

52Frames - Week 10 - Abandoned
Bombay Beach, CA has seen better days. Once a thriving resort community on the eastern shore of the Salton Sea, the town is home to approximately 275 residents (per the last census) and a tremendous amount of disrepair and decay. Much of the town has been abandoned since the Salton Sea is drying up and subject to agricultural runoff which has become toxic. Some long-time residents remain and there is a budding artist community that would like to revive the town’s old glory.
A levee extends along the western edge of the town, protecting it from occasional flash flooding that can occur since it lies 230 feet below sea level. The area above the levee was once the beach; now a barren wasteland showing remnants of old structures and the growth of new sculptures.
Since Bombay Beach is an hour away from our resort in Rancho Mirage, I had intended to only spend an hour wandering around. 2.5 hours later, I wrapped it up with many photos from which to choose for this week’s challenge. Feels like I barely scratched the surface of photographic opportunities there, so will definitely return on another trip.

"Alone"
Week 10
This week's challenge was "abandoned." I didn't have time to go exploring and find an old, abandoned building so I thought outside the box a little bit. My vision for this shot involved an old, worn out chair. So use your imagination and pretend this yellow kids chair is something with a bit more patina.

"Left Behind"
Week 18
This week's prompt was "abandoned." I've been wanting to go back and photograph this old farm again for awhile now. So this week's prompt was the perfect motivation to go out there. I'm not sure what happened to this old farm, or when it was left behind to fall apart, but it's been like this for at least 3 years. There's also a spooky old house down the hill from this silo that I might use for another prompt this year.
I had to visit it several times to get a sky I was happy with. I also attempted a long exposure right after I took this photo, but the clouds weren't moving at all. Even a 3 minute exposure time wasn't long enough to show any decent movement. This photo is also eligible for the extra credit of "HDR."

Ruin Compassion
My girls rode along with me this week for "Abandoned." After inspection for safety and critters, I invited them in for their turn with the camera. They each fired off a half dozen shots or so before I posed them for this one.
As I culled through the shots, this one punched me right in the gut.
All of the broken abandonment surrounding them -compassion never left. Hug someone today, share a smile, let love win.
