This is the first time I've tried a different lens in my camera and now I want to play some more!!
I am the first to admit this is far from perfect and I had now idea what I was doing but I just couldn't resist those beautiful blue eyes!!
Joe's much better now although still not himself and we've had a weekend off the decorating so we've been able to spend some family time together.
Paddy waiting on the mystical other side of the grasses... If i crouch down they usually go into inquisitive mode, knowing I'm there but wondering what I'm going to do next
I'm always looking to do something different in the 52 week projects. So this week I played with framing and shallow DOF. This is with the 85 f1.8 lens which gives such sweet out of focys areas. And the gate on the gate provided such sweet lines. Added some grain in processing to make it a bit more gritty.
Eva is a chronic squinter. Love that she has her eyes open just enough in this photo.
A set of ex Bessemer SD38's that have been renumbered and re-lettered for the Union RR rest at Clairton, PA on December 20, 2000. The SD38's were used on the coke train at the time, but they did not last long on the URR. Pictured here are URR 52 - 53 - 50 - 54.
Into The Light.
Taken this afternoon at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth. There were lots of French people wandering around but I have no idea why...
Eva amongst the living room curtains.
The dogs can be a little bit high alert. And when they go extra high alert the curtains get drawn to decrease the temptation to offer opinions to the neighbourhood.
But some curtains are meant to be nosed open.
Bracelet bought from a second hand store some years ago. My intention was to use the triangular beads for a project. One of those projects I never got around to doing. Perhaps I'll just restring it.
A bit of an early an early post this week. A glum mood as we morn the passing of my wife's mom yesterday. She was 83. After we walked Jasper tonight (this shot), we dropped him with a family to to take care of him while we go to Wisconsin to attend the funeral and be close to family. Jasper definitely knew something was wrong. He was all over us all day. Such a good boy.
A rare occurrence this week with an actual picture of me (!) and Paddy & Smudge . A few days lightweight camping with a friend in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands (hence the photograph!). Cool nights in a lightweight sleeping bag but no bother for me with two hot dog water bottles :) Paddy throughly enjoyed that ... I daresay with Smudge it was a toss up between the 20km a day walkies, the red deer blarting outside the tent at night, the red deer running across the hillsides in great numbers in visible daylight and the dad cuddle ... I daresay it was probably the deer ! (in the photo you can see he was in his constant 'deer spotting mode' :)) [Oh .. and I'm not wearing a kilt .. just shorts! :) ]
Week 27 in 52 Weeks for Dogs. Our UK covid-19 regulations have been somewhat relaxed but I'm still not walking in the forest (Clive hasn't volunteered to drive me there again) so I took a quick portrait shot in the garden and then processed it in DDG. I'd seen the style image a couple of weeks ago and thought an image using it would make a good addition to Tasku's project.
Also for Definitely Dreaming 'colourful' theme. 27/52
.. può anche succedere che una persona ti ami e tu non te ne accorga. Ma quando una che ti ha amato smette di farlo è impossibile non accorgersene... (F.Volo)
Baker had a pretty uneventful week until yesterday afternoon when I decided to trim his nails (something I have always done). All was going well until it wasn't and there was blood everywhere. I am still apologizing.

Well...this was a tough prompt! :D I had no clue what to do, even now, i'm not sure if i like my take on it. But, it will have to do, because the time is running out...:)
It reached over 50 f (10c) today. In Vermont. In the middle of January! There was still snow on the ground, which made Pokey think it was cold outside and he just sat there hoping to come back inside.
