"Who cooks for you all". Not rare here but very uncommon. The sun had already set and it was pretty dark in the woods, but the Z9 did an amazing job of finding the owl.
Barred Owls are large, stocky owls with rounded heads, no ear tufts, and medium length, rounded tails. They roost quietly in forest trees during the day, though they can occasionally be heard calling in daylight hours. At night they hunt small animals, especially rodents, and give an instantly recognizable “Who cooks for you?” call.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

This beautiful warbler flits about very actively in the trees, usually holding its wings and tail partly spread, as if to show off their patches of color. At times it feeds more like a flycatcher than a typical warbler, hovering among the foliage and often flying out to grab insects in mid-air.

For two years in a row, I've captured this little crazy guy, Same day and spot. It only gives you a split second to get a shot.

I liked the bejeweled look of the cypress fronds after a rain. I thought it made a nice backdrop for this beautiful bird.
The plan was to photograph beavers on the Westerwald lake district... ;-) According to web research, about 30 beavers live on a small lake. When I saw the lake, I was quite irritated, because the lake was more or less dry except for a narrow stream. Even after extensive observation I could not find a single beaver. Later, a local resident told me that the lake was drained because a local resident had complained about floods. So this little paradise for beavers and the breeding ground for many birds, geese and ducks was simply destroyed. Isn't that sad?
A small consolation for me was the beautiful wagtail that I could observe on the shore.
;-) Laut Webrecherche sollten an einem kleinen See etwa 30 Bieber leben.
