It’s 5 a.m. What am I doing taking pictures of someone
writing a novel at 5 a.m.? But of course the cat is writing
this novel, dictating to the person holding the pen. I’ve
seen this person around here before, moving between
the rooms, carrying sheets of paper and a cat bowl. I’ve
felt in my bones the rat-like sensation of something
creeping up from behind and I knew what it was: cat
writing a novel. But I will leave them to their work
and take a walk out under the unblossomed sky. You might
see anything out there: stars, trees collecting wind, small
creatures scurrying from somebody’s breakfast table. Once
I saw a horse bound over a hedge, stop to look into a bedroom
window, then make a note in a pocket diary and continue on.
I’ve wondered once or twice if I’m a character in the novel
this blasted cat is writing.

History:
In the 19th Year of Chien Lung Period in Ching Dynasty(in1754 Lin,Chin-Ming(also known as Lin Yao-Kung), a native from An His City of Fukien Province, had led his families to sail across the Strait to Taiwan. First settled at Tamshui, then moved to Linkuo Chuang. Through trying very hard to be industrious and thrifty, he had finally bought some farming lands and real estates. Due to being good at business operation, his
fourth son Lin, Chin-Neng(also known as Lin, Hui-Kung)had opened a "Jung Tai Shop" in Mengchia operating a shipping company and a grocery store to engage in import and export trade, then and there, his business was very successful. After accumulating his wealth, he had built a big house at where No.141 of Szuwei Rd. lies now. The main building of this house was completed in about the 48th to 50th Year of Chien Lung Period in Ching Dynas(1783~1785).
In the 2nd to 3rd Year of Tao Kuang Period in Ching Dynasty(1822~1823) the "Hu Long" in its both sides had been finished one after another. In order to remember hometown and think of his origin, Lin, Hui-kung had named his house as "An Tai", with "An" named after An Hsi City of Fukien Province and "Tai" after "Jung Tai Shop". It has been one of the oldest house existed in Taipei City for now.
