Some of us will light all the four candles for the 4th Sunday in Advent - and tonight some of us will light the first candle in the Menorah for the 1st evening of Hanukkah.
I hope this Hanukkah greeting will speak to all of us, "May the candles be your beacon of light on your path to joy."

Where did the time go? It's already the 4th Sunday of Advent? And the tree is still waiting for its dressing up...
Well, another cup of coffee and a gingersnap or two will help. ;-)

Tänd ett ljus - Light a candle...
is a song, written and arranged in 1988, which has gradually become "a classic" during Advent.
It was wonderful to find a version of the song in ENGLISH, because to me it feels especially appropriate now, given the difficult times... Rob Lundgren, a Swedish artist perhaps best known as a "metal musician," writes:
"This is an English Lyrics version I made of the Swedish classic Tänd Ett Ljus.Originally by Triad.
All Sounds, Vocals and Piano by Rob Lundgren"
Rob stays remarkably close to the orginal arrangement, and I really appreciate his skill in making a very "singable" translation. Here he is:

"Light a candle, don't let it burn out
Never let the hope turn to doubt
It's getting dark now
But it'll be brighter again...."

Fourth Sunday of Advent:
Another morning with candle light, lighting our way when we can also enjoy this: the first day of the slow return of the sun ...
I know I treasure every minute of more daylight we are getting each day!

Fourth Sunday of Advent - time for four candles to shine - and how fitting that the little Tomtenisse has his candle lit as well: it's Christmas Eve, too!
Merry Christmas, all!
