This train was my principal reason for making the 4 mile trek to this spot as it had been allocated a trio of class 90s yesterday including two orange, black and yellow examples. For the second week running this proved to be false information and only this duo appeared. This was no bad thing as there is really only space for two anyway! I still can't quite believe I managed to get this in full sun either as cloud was dominant at this time and none of the previous four trains had been lit.

In place of the booked Class 86's No.66414 in Powerhaul livery is working 4M87 11:13 Felixstowe North F.L.T. - Trafford Park F.L.T. at Barby Nortoft. 02-06-2020.
Taken in a lightning storm just to the right of Freightliner 86639 which is paired with 86608 as they pass through a wet Rugeley working 4M87 11:13 Felixstowe North F.L.T-Trafford Park F.L.T. 13/09/2016.

90047 and 90006 Modern Railways Magazine / Roger Ford are reflected in the Oxford Canal near Shildon as they cruise north with 4M87 11:13 Felixstowe North to Ditton liner.
Twisting and turning around the reverse curves at Rugeley, as only 40+ year olds can, a pair of class 86s, 86605 and 86628, head north with the 11.13 Felixstowe - Trafford Park (4M87) intermodal containers.
A bit chocolate-boxy for some but hard to begrudge the fine sight these old-timers put on, nor the fact the back-end of the train is helpfully included in the shot for once.
The last of the reverse curves at Rugeley Trent Valley on this stream for a while, with no future visits planned!

Can Sisters 86608 and 86609 head north up the WCML whilst working 4M87 Felixstowe to Trafford Park, on a beautiful afternoon. The previous visit (photo in comment section) as i waited for the cans ended up in a sudden unannounced downpour!! These veteran locomotives are currently all but 2 in store with exams due, however their long term future is in doubt since the transfer of the Anglian 90s going too freight liner. Fingers crossed they get maintained and returned too traffic as like many, these remain a favourite for photing
It is not often I have something good to say about Network Rail but they have certainly gone to the top of my Christmas card list this year after clearing out every single shred of vegetation on the up side between the Spring Valley overbridge and the Shaw's Farm overbridge - around three-quarters of a mile in length. Even some trees in the adjacent fields have been felled too! This has now created one of the best locations right on my doorstep which will make lockdown this winter much more palatable. As can be clearly seen locally we didn't get a trace of snow yesterday unlike much of the rest of the country - much to my great chagrin. The upside was this is the first time I have captured a G&W liveried class 90 leading.
It's funny what you see when out walking the Dog.

Third time lucky! After my two previous attempts to shoot the repainted 'Modern Railways Magazine/Roger Ford' coincided with the gloom it finally ran both ways in full bling today. A very healthy load too and an up 5 car 720 had just cleared with a few seconds to spare.
