Designed to be small, light and highly maneuvable the LL-496 Trident can still pack a punch. As the quintessential short range fighter the Trident is perfect for escort and patrol missions and while attached to a carrier fleet can be used as a offensive craft as well. Deep Space Station Arcturus currently has 4 squadrons of Tridents in service.
Where Trident gets its name from is how it's center fuselage is flanked by its long forward swept variable geometry wings giving the craft the top shilloette of a trident.

::: So here it is my latest MOC. I wanted to make a small single occupant starfighter interceptor to go in my fledgling NCS fleet to go along with my Nova Team picture stories. I had my mind set on the forward swept variable geometry wings, so after many many wing iterations and drawing from so much inspiration from great builders, I worked out something I liked and then built the craft around it. It was fun to play with different techniques. The idea is that when the craft is landed the wings are folded in saving on storage space within a hanger and then when Trident was in flight mode the wings are fully extended. I'm really excited to share this with you all and looked forward to your feedback. Thank you all so much!
