this odd little waterfowl was a first for me....and what an elusive little guy as he skirted among the reeds......
The CN “Recycle Job” heading South past the Kensington Tower on the South side of Chicago with a pair of Trunks for power. This now an as needed extra board job that runs whenever, so being at 18th street and seeing this guy pull up behind me was quite the surprise and unexpected. The pair of Trunks was definitely a major bonus!
Tomorrows assignment... 24 hours at Timberline Lodge.
I'll be spending the day at Timberline Lodge tomorrow shooting photos of details of the lodge, inside and out. I have room and will be spending the night and so will get some night shots. Timberline Lodge will have a book coming out around about time for their 75th anniversary. Plan on seeing a few shots in it from someone you know. : )
The last time that I was outside the stars were out, which I'm sure they'll be covered by clouds tomorrow, but at 6000' anything can happen at sunset or sunrise.

Die Fliegenpilze haben es dieses Jahr schwer, die Wildschweine halten sich in diesem Waldstück gerne auf, dies kann man am Waldboden gut sehen. Da Bäume markiert sind, wird wohl auch bald der "Vollernter" das Waldstück ruinieren. Eine Parzelle weiter ist dies schon geschehen, danach sieht es immer aus, als ob der Förster mit dem Wald Krieg führt.
