Ex-Southern Railway Waterloo and City line driving motor S56 - Class 487 - in transit, in the early-1980s, with 'Waterloo and City Match Truck' ADB452732 and ADB453241, and an ex-SR 'Queen Mary' bogie brake van on the right.
Car S56 was in service on the last day of Class 487s on the Waterloo and City line, on May 28th 1993, and was later scrapped. One driving motor survived, and today (2017) S61 is at the LT Museum depot at Acton, and was recently cleaned up and repainted in its later Network South East 'jam sandwich' livery.

CSX 487 leads train M424 east through the state line tunnel as they make their way into Massachussetts.
487 is outbound with a 49 coming down Arkwright Street, while the 48 behind is being flagged down. Pleasingly, one of the final branded 48s appeared for this navy line combo-shot that features both a conventional E400 and a biogas E400 City. It's a shame there wasn't a 4 at the back to get an Omnidekka in too. I doubt it would ever happen, but it'd be great to get a line-up of all the navy services since you get a lot of different types of bus on them!
Thinking about it, if the 48 gets the E200s off brown line, that will make navy line the most varied in terms of vehicles. It's doing well already with Solo SRs on the 3, Omnidekkas on the 4, E400s on both the 1 and 48 plus E400 Cities on the 49. Add the E200s and that's every type of bus in the fleet except MMCs!

HTT 487 SR487. 1946 AEC Regal/Weymann. One of 74 new to Devon General from 1940, this was part of first batch received and was 1 of 6 exchanged with Leicester Corporation Transport for 6 of their AEC Regent 2 double deckers in 1952. History then lost until later found in derelict condition & patiently restored and is a licensed service bus. Ron Greet, Ipplepen. Kingsbridge running day 17-9-22.
