A sight extremely rare these days, especially after the abolishment of the Port Rob yard power, a CN 4 axle engine ripping along the Stamford. CN GP38-2W 4791 leads the Track Evaluation or “Test Train” O998 through CN Yager towards Buffalo while testing the rails for any defects. Funny enough, they encountered a defect around Netherby and were held up on the way back to Hamilton as a crew resolved the issue.

A pair of GE's (KCS 4791, CP 8863) lead Northbound CPKC Intermodal train #181 across the bridge over Soap Creek at a place known as the Foster Bridges located West of Ottumwa, IA early in the morning.

This is the middle and largest of the 3 bridges and I tried to walk across the field to get a little closer but when a bunch of dogs started to bark at the nearby house, I didn't want to push my luck:}

The compost heaps are still alive with bank voles although I've not seen them as often as I did in winter. Possibly the marauding sparrowhawk has something to do with that.

These guys are sooo hard to shoot! I have been trying for so long to get a decent shot. I have given up trying until yesterday, when I saw a couple of them flying in front of me. So, I tried again and this is the best I could do!

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

A quick stop on the way back down from Drygarn.
