Sad but necessary....
The view from our spot on the campsite at Cheltenham Racecourse. Seems a bit odd to be camping so near to home but we are having a “staycation” while we have some work done on our house.
The campsite is only open outside of the racing season so it’s a very peaceful place to be.

The 46A route has run between Dublin and Dun Laoghaire since 1926. Today was the last day of the 46A and there’s a restructure of the bus system in Dublin ongoing, and tomorrow a new route starts between Dun Laoghaire and the city centre. The 46A will remain in the memory of a lot of southsiders in Dublin and it was a bus I regularly took. The 46A was also made famous by the Bagatelle song - “Summer in Dublin”. In the song the singer is “singing a song I heard somewhere called rock ‘n’ roll never forgets. When my humming was smothered by a 46A and the scream of a low flying jet. So I jumped on a bus to Dun Laoghaire stopping’ off to pick up my guitar”. youtu.be/MMhWll_mfGk?si=iWymTWigJiXZVkJg
