I already had the Super-Komura 50mm f:3.5 and recently acquired the Super-Komura 45mm f:4.5. This is a very basic test of the Super-Komura 45mm f:4.5 vs. the Super-Komura 50mm f:3.5.
The 50mm is a bit faster, but very soft wide open. I cannot complain about sharpness if stopped down to about f:11.
The 45mm is somewhat wider, has better contrast and is visibly sharper wide-open. All in all an improvement, in my opinion.
Both lenses are big and heavy - the 45mm especially so with an 82mm filter ring and adding 900 grams to an already hefty camera.
This is the 45mm @ f:11.
