Défigurée par les sombres décennies 1930-1940, la ville de Cologne (Köln) en Allemagne ne dispose certes pas d'un centre-ville impressionnant au niveau de l'architecture, mais regorge de certaines pépites, la cathédrale en premier. La fin d'année est aussi l'occasion de découvrir l'un des marchés de Noël les plus réputés en Europe.
Le "Stadtbahn" de Cologne est un réseau de métro léger qui succède en 1968 à un premier réseau de tramway.
Le gestionnaire de l'infrastructure est le KVB. Non, pas l'équipement de sécurité que l'on connaît sur le réseau ferré français, mais le Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe.
Le matériel est principalement composé de tramway Bombardier Flexity Swift (modèle K4500). C'est l'un de ces modèles que l'on voit sur la photo, assurant une liaison sur la ligne n°1 en direction de Bensberg. La photo est prise le long de la Hahnenstraße.
