• Die Düne 45 verdankt ihren Namen dem Umstand, dass sie 45 Kilometer vom Parkeingang bei Sesriem entfernt liegt. Sie ist deshalb so bekannt, weil sie einfach zu erreichen ist.
• The dune 45 owes its name to the fact that it is located 45 kilometers from the park entrance at Sesriem. It is so well-known because it is easy to reach.
Right in the gut of rugged Rock Creek Canyon on Rio Grande’s Craig Branch, an eastbound coal train exits Tunnel 45 between Crater and Volcano, Colorado, on September 8, 1992. Four Tunnel Motors are up front, with two more as a swing helper in the middle of the train, with a symbol of AINNC (Axial mine to Nixon in Colorado Springs).

Four Maryland Midland "45's" roll east on Western Maryland Railway's mainline at Sabillasville, MD with train UBHF heading for home. I certainly miss MMID blue and orange, but the "Borg" ain't so bad with a power show like this, either. Okay, so they are no longer a real SD45, but a new heart never changed appearance!

Messier 45, Pleiades or, from my childhood days, The Seven Sisters.
At 444 lightyears from earth they are probably the best open star cluster in the sky. The bright young hot stars are thought to be passing through a dust cloud thus creating reflection nebulae. The clustering will eventually be lost due to local gravitational interactions.
