Peaking up through the masses of autumn foliage is the turret of the State Bank and Savings bank, the leading national financial institution founded in 1856 and is wholly owned by the government of Luxembourg.
Despite its small size and low population, Luxembourg is one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Much of the country's source of income comes from its extremely lucrative financial sector, which accounts for 25 per cent of its GDP.
Apparently it has a "favourable" tax regime which is why many rich people move there.

4490 and 4520 pass Redfern with the Melbourne Cup Arurora. The train will descend the scenic curves of the Illawarra line to Wollongong, before climbing up the steep grades of the Illawarra Escarpment to Moss Vale, where the train will head south towards Albury and Melbourne.

I have been scanning from the family photo albums again and thought I would share this from the dim and distant past.
In truth however this is not quite as old as it may appear on initial viewing, actually dating from the mid 1990’s and is a family souvenir from a visit to the Beamish Open Air Museum.
In my parents photograph album is this photograph of my Granddad, Arthur Geary covered in grime at work as the Cupolo Foreman at Stanton Ironworks in 1947. I wonder what the H & S boys would make of these working conditions.
When two galaxies are in the process of merging, the gravitational interaction can trigger waves of star formation. This is the case for NGC 4490, a spiral galaxy that has collided with a smaller galaxy to the upper right but not seen in this image. Scientists think that these two galaxies have already had their closest approach and are now separating from one another. Some of the point-like sources of X-rays represent stellar-mass black holes and neutron stars within the galaxy. In this image of NGC 4490, X-rays from Chandra (purple) have been combined with an optical image from Hubble (red, green, and blue).
