Today, we had dinner at our friend's place. They are leaving in two weeks and I am completely heartbroken. It's what comes with being married to someone in the Navy, but you never really get used to it. I'm going to miss this whole family, including sweet, happy Bea.

This photo was taken from a bridge across the Jialing river. The juxtaposition of the ancient city with the skyscrapers in the back is fused with the bright lights that frame the city. This Go Global experience truly shaped the way I view the world and it made me realize much more there is to explore. When I signed up I had never heard of Chongqing but the people, the experience and all the little trips within made me realize what an incredible city this is. The food was spicy and delicious, the architecture was astounding, a true amalgamation of ancient tradition with contemporary innovation.
La mañana del 2 de Febrero, un voluntario llegó a Wings of Heart con 41 pollitos que había conseguido de una incubadora industrial. Les pidió “unos pollos para el corral de unos amigos” y el trabajador (al cual conocía) le “regaló” encantado “unos puñados” de pollitos. Ellos fueron los pollitos más afortunados del mundo. Sus hermanos ya han muerto en el matadero. 41 pollitos salieron hacia Wings of Heart. Pero unos cuantos miles salieron unas horas más tarde hacia cientos de granjas.
Los pollitos de Wings of Heart crecen felices, aunque debido a los problemas que arrastran, su vida será mucho más breve de lo que debería ser. Es por eso, por saber de antemano que no podrán vivir una vida larga, que vamos a dedicar todo nuestro esfuerzo a que, al menos, sea una vida intensa, tanto como ellos sean capaces de disfrutar.
Los pollitos de Wings of Heart son unos pollitos que escaparon del verdadero infierno, y que van a disfrutar de una vida feliz, aunque sea breve.
