Scaleber Force is a stunning 40ft waterfall within Scaleber Wood Nature Reserve in North Yorkshire, England.
The crystal clear waters of Stockdale Beck tumble over limestone cliffs before plunging into a deep pool.
Whilst this may look like a cut and paste shot I can assure you 100% it is not. There is app 40ft between the bird and the background.

“Four deserted Tower Blocks
Traces of a mythical tribe
A dark fable for our times…”
ESTATE is a dystopian model village experience featuring four abandoned concrete tower blocks at 1:24 scale (approx 2 metres high) housed in a 40ft shipping container.
The tower blocks each serve a different function in the ESTATE and contain amusing scenes of mass social, economic and environmental devastation.
Tower block 1 contains residential Live-Work-Die units .
Tower block 2 is a multi-storey high security children’s prison.
Tower block 3 is a high-rise care home for the old, the dying and the dead.
Tower block 4 seems to have been some kind of spiritual centre for neo-pagan misbehaviour.
Stichill Linn, few people are aware of this spectacular waterfall which drops almost 40ft to a freshwater pool just below and is hidden in the woods of Newton Don Estate, certainly a lovely hidden gem.

This photo stuck out to me, there seems to be a large cut of old 40ft box cars on the headpin with plenty of brake smoke coming off the old shoes. A guess, maybe they are headed to Billerica to be cut up,

Quite good detail in this shot, taken from about 13m/40ft distance. The head feathers turn very dark brown or black during the Spring.
First time being to this magnificent 40ft falls. Got my first swim in of the year as well!

The Llyn Clywedog is a man made reservoir formed by the construction of the Clywedog Dam. The lake has a surface area of 615 acres (230 football pitches), is 216 ft deep at its maximum depth and stretches in all a distance of some six miles.
At its maximum, it is just 500 yards wide. Some 15 miles of new or improved roads were built around the reservoir and a number of viewing points and picnic areas are arranged along the circular drive around the lake enabling visitors to enjoy the wonderful panoramic views.
There is a second, much less visible dam at Bwlch-y-gle. This is an earthen structure faced with stone, about 40ft high and 600ft long which prevents the lake spilling over into the neighbouring valleys on either side of Bryn y Fan hill, the highest of the hills surrounding
Stichill Linn must be one of the best kept secrets in the Scottish Borders, few people are aware of this spectacular waterfall which is hidden in the woods of Newton Don Estate and fed by the otherwise slow flowing and unassuming Eden Water. It was a lovely walk following the river bank and crossing a bridge into a Redwood forest before emerging at this unexpected waterfall cascading down almost 40ft into it’s freshwater pool below. Certainly a best kept secret!!!!!
This banksia i raised from seed 27 years ago and gave it to my uncle to plant on his property. Its now 40ft high and will grow another 40ft at least. These little wattle birds and the honey eaters are frequent visitors to this tree in large numbers...
CV GP-9's 4450 & 4925 are headed south on the 'Palmer Sub' on this hazy hot August afternoon. Look at the 40ft BAR boxcars, one still has a roof walk. The Conn River mainline was just a great place for photographing trains, the locations and activity back in the 1970's & 80's was well worth the trip!

my fave spot to photograph the Redwoods but seems like I never walk away with much of a shot. Guess shooting trees is not my cup of tea. The image does not do justice to the immense size of these giants.

Bridal Veil Falls- Brook Trail - Castle in the Clouds

The 7 waterfalls along the Brook Trail at Castle in the Clouds has become one of my favorite destinations. Best visited earlier in the season to take advantage of the water flow from the Winter melt off. Still, the flow wasn't too bad on this day and I had the trail largely to myself.
Falls of Song is final falls on the trail (or the first if instead of hiking you drive in). At about 40ft, it's the tallest of the 7 and has a walk in deck that lets you get very close to the falls.
This shot was hand held.
Hope you enjoy!

Stichill Linn is the waterfall on the little Eden Water that runs through the estate of Newton Don near the village of Stichill a few miles north of Kelso in the Scottish Borders.
The water falls 40ft in to a pool in a steep sided ravine accessed via a lovely woodland walk adjacent to the watercourse.
An autumnal leaf was gently resting on a log at the edge of the pool adding a subtle hint of colour in the foreground.
The Leading Light is a 40ft high cast iron warning light at Steamboat Quay, Port Glasgow Scotland. It’s an A Category B Listed structure and provides safe navigation for shipping on the River Clyde. It works together with the “Perch Light” built in the early 1900s which can be seen to the rear of the photo. The shelter in the foreground is an old Mine watching post left over from ww2
Visitors can expect glittering lights and more than 150 Christmas trees of all shapes and sizes across the riverside neighbourhood, including a 40ft tree in Malaysia Square with over 1,500 baubles.
P&W train XW-1 with two month old U18B 1801 is spotting a B&M 40ft box car at the Whitins team track on this cold December day. The unfortunate part about short line railroading is long hood forward assignments as is the case here today. The 1801 was never equipped with cab signals so it was not able to operate on Amtrak's 'Northeast Corridor'. It spent most of its life on the P&W assigned to the Worcester locals and or NR-3 out of Plainfield, CT
The 1801 was purchased new by the P&W from GE in October of 1976, and served the railroad well for over 25 years.

Grace O'Malley's or Kildavnet Castle is actually a 15th century Tower House. The O'Malley's were a powerful seafaring family.
Grace became a feared leader and gained fame as a sea captain and pirate. She is reputed to have met with Queen Elizabeth I in 1593. She died around 1603 and is believed to be buried in the O'Malley family tomb on Clare Island. Kildavnet or Kildownet Tower house is located on the south-eastern shore of Achill Island. The placename literally means “the small church of Davnet” and refers to the 7th century Saint Dympna who built a small church here. However it is best known as the home of its most famous tenant, the legendary pirate queen Granuaile. Kildavnet Castle is a couple of hundred metres along the shore from the ancient Kildownet Church. This three-storey building stands about 12m (40ft) tall and has buttress fortifications at the top. It is vaulted above the first floor, and a hole at the corner of this vault is the only access to the higher levels. The Tower stands at a strategically important spot, guarding the waters of Achill Sound which links Clew Bay to the south with Blacksod Bay to the north. During the time of Granuaille it was one of several such strongholds that she controlled, including the Tower House on Clare Island and Rockfleet or Carraigahowley Castle near Newport.

I had the idea of finding a Japanese garden for my project and was lucky enough to come across Mr Derek J Verlander's entry into the 2015 Shed of the Year Competition.
Derek turned a disused railway cutting into a Japanese themed garden including a 40ft Waterfall, a Pond with Koi Carp, a Bridge, Bonsai Trees and various Buddha Statues with other Japanese related ornaments.
In addition to the Bridge Derek constructed his shed as an authentic style Tea Room to a very high standard.
The interior is amazing and he has also added a Machiai Shelter to the side which houses his BBQ.
Derek and Linda made me very welcome for which I am extremely grateful.
