The Curtiss P-40 was an American single-engine, single-seat, all-metal fighter and ground attack aircraft that first flew in 1938. It was used by the air forces of 28 nations, including those of most Allied powers during World War II, and remained in front line service until the end of the war. By November 1944, when production of the P-40 ceased, 13,738 had been built, all at Curtiss-Wright Corporation's main production facility at Buffalo, New York.
The P-40 design was a modification of the previous Curtiss P-36; this reduced development time and enabled a rapid entry into production and operational service.
Warhawk was the name the United States Army Air Corps adopted for all models, making it the official name in the United States for all P-40s. The British Commonwealth and Soviet air forces used the name Tomahawk for models equivalent to the P-40B and P-40C, and the name Kittyhawk for models equivalent to the P-40D and all later variants.

Médiacritiques a dix ans ! Le n°40 de notre revue trimestrielle sortira de l’imprimerie le 27 octobre. Avec un dossier spécial sur les médias et le travail, des rubriques inédites et les dessins de Colloghan. À commander dès maintenant sur notre boutique en ligne, ou à retrouver en librairie. « Nous avions rêvé depuis longtemps – et vous aussi peut-être – d’un magazine imprimé – et régulier – d’Acrimed. Ce sera Médiacritique(s), un magazine trimestriel et coloré de 32 pages. » Quand, en octobre 2011, nous avions publié l’avis de naissance de notre magazine, nous étions loin de nous douter qu’un beau jour vous tiendriez entre vos mains réjouies son quarantième numéro ! Depuis, au gré des idées et des bonnes volontés, la revue, qui se présente depuis octobre 2019 sous les atours chatoyants d’une nouvelle maquette, s’est enrichie de nouvelles rubriques : « Maux médiatiques », « Loquace et local », « En roue libre », « Des lectures »… Elle s’est aussi étoffée, pour atteindre 48 pages. Elle a gardé son rythme de parution trimestriel, mais elle a surtout gardé son âme, ses objectifs et sa raison d’être : contribuer à diffuser nos analyses, nos critiques et nos propositions, et alimenter le débat sur la question médiatique.
La fin d’année s’annonce en effet faste et festive pour Acrimed. Si le magazine célèbre ses dix ans, l’association fête quant à elle ses vingt-cinq ans d’existence ! Qui dit fête dit cadeau, et nous en avons un, de taille : le 12 novembre prochain sortira en effet un nouveau livre d’Acrimed, aux éditions Adespote, Les Médias contre la rue, 25 ans de démobilisation sociale. Un livre à la fois lourd (250 pages) et léger, qui témoigne du chemin parcouru et des travaux accomplis sur notre terrain d’observation « favori » : la maltraitance médiatique des mouvements sociaux. Un cadeau à 18 euros, à offrir, à s’offrir, sans modération !
Parallèlement, notre association s’est déployée sur les ondes. En juillet est née une émission de radio mensuelle, hébergée par Cause Commune (93.1 en Île-de-France, en ligne partout ailleurs), dont les contenus sont également à retrouver sur la plateforme de podcasts critiques « Spectre ».
Nous continuons bien évidemment de mener le combat dans les manifestations, en organisant des événements publics, et en alimentant le site avec des articles réguliers : pas question de baisser la garde, en particulier en cette année d’élection présidentielle… Polarisés par un agenda toujours plus (extrême) droitier, banalisant les idées fascisantes d’Éric Zemmour, abordant la campagne présidentielle comme une course de chevaux où l’on parie sur des tuyaux crevés fournis à jet continu par les sondeurs, les grands médias piétinent chaque jour un peu plus leur mission d’information. Face à ce rouleau compresseur, nous comptons sur vous pour poursuivre et mener à bien nos activités : n’hésitez pas à faire un don ou à adhérer à l’association !
Dans ce numéro un peu spécial, vous n’en trouverez pas moins votre dossier habituel, cette fois consacré au traitement du travail et des travailleurs. Une question qui, c’est le moins qu’on puisse dire, ne fait pas la Une des grands médias, et qui, quand elle est traitée, l’est souvent très mal : journalisme de classe, poids de la doxa libérale et mépris du pluralisme, culte de la « valeur travail », fait-diversification de l’information, invisibilisation des classes populaires et des métiers qu’elles exercent, suivisme à l’égard du pouvoir politique et des politiques patronales, etc. Autrement dit, une loupe grossissante des tendances médiatiques dominantes...

Mit 2:03:23 Stunden gewann Wilson Kipsang nicht nur den 40. Berlin Marathon, sondern stellte auch einen neuen Weltrekord auf. Er erreichte das Ziel vor Eliud Kipchoge (2:04:05) und Geoffrey Kipsang (2:06:26). .

Bei den Frauen gewann Florence Kiplagat mit einer Zeit von 2:21:13 vor Sharon Cherop (2:22:28). Als dritte Frau lief Irina Mikitenko mit 2:24:54 Stunden in das Ziel und wurde damit auch die schnellste deutsche Frau. .

This is the only self portrait I have.
Despite waking up around 6am, I didn't eat or drink ANYTHING until around .... 6pm. I felt like I was ten seconds away from passing out the entire day.

Yay. School is back in and parents are driving kids to work and home and everyone's schedules are conflicting...all of this adds up to super super long commutes in terrible traffic.
It only lasts a week, and for the next 2 days, I'm working out of my own office. One day of this, I can totally tolerate.
