You would barely see this unused barn in other seasons, but the lack of leaves and the fill light from the snow brings this to life again!

An empty CPKC gas train crawls through Eastwood on UP's Galveston Sub, returning empty from the Port of Houston. Timing worked out well for this shot, as northbounds are quite rare for this stretch of track, especially in decent sun.

Caerphilly Castle was the first of its class to roll off the production line at Swindon Works on 23rd August 1923. In total 171 Castle Class engines were built, including rebuilds, between 1932 and 1950.
The Castle locomotives were designed by Chief Mechanical Engineer C. B. Collett who based them on the earlier Star Class engines but made them larger and more powerful. They became Great Western Railway'’s most successful express passenger locomotive, operating on all of the GWR’s main lines.
No. 4073 Caerphilly Castle is on display in the GWR Museum in Swindon.

Great Western Railway 4-6-0 No. 4073 "Caerphilly Castle" was completed at Swindon in August 1923 at a cost of £6,841 as the first member of the Castle class. After a brief running in period it went to the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley in 1924. It was withdrawn in May 1960 having completed 1,910,730 miles.
The locomotive is now on display at STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway at Swindon.
