I was onboard this train from Delhi Cantt up to here for a short ride behind the diesel.

In 1983, the SBD rebuilt a group of boxcars delivered as SCL 40300-40599. These were cars built by Pullman-Standard in 1972 as lot 9601. The biggest external difference was the replacement of double doors on each side to a single 10' door. Here a pair of these X5G class rebuilds roll along at an unknown location in October 1984. Photographer unknown, JL Sessa collection.

The 14816 Rishikesh–Shri Ganganagar Express, hauled by WDM-4D #40599 from TKD DLS, makes its entry into Roorkee, crossing the Upper Ganga Canal bridge, as the Saharanpur–Dehradun Passenger departs.

Sikar Express enters Gurgaon behind TKD WDP-4D #40599

A slightly more descriptive ‘official’ caption, from both the 1963 & 1964 versions of this scene, both linked below:

“Artist Drawing by North American Aviation Inc. - After the third stage engine burns for the second time the Apollo vehicle is on its lunar trajectory. The adapter surrounding the LEM (Lunar Excursion Module) is separated. Next the command and services modules separate leaving the LEM attached to the third stage.”

More precisely, this depicts commencement of transposition and docking maneuvers.

Something I'd never noticed before, the LEM's porch also appears to be folded down. Interesting. To me, that is.

Artwork most likely by the supremely talented Gary Meyer.

New to Preston Bus(199) in 12/2000, this Trident is seen here leaving Preston Bus Station, on 16/01/2009. It became 18599 in the Stagecoach Preston Bus fleet then 40599 in the Rotala Preston Bus fleet. In 2020, this Trident met its 'maker' and went on a one way trip to Barnsley!

On 23/01/2009, Preston Bus was sold to Stagecoach with the routes operated by Preston Bus being rebranded as Stagecoach in Preston from 03/2009.

In 11/2009, the Competition Commission ruled that the takeover by Stagecoach had adversely affected competition in the area and ordered Stagecoach sell Preston Bus. Following this ruling, the Preston Bus name and logo was reinstated and the company was operated at arm's length from the main Stagecoach business. In 01/2011 Preston Bus was sold to Rotala. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preston_Bus.

The story of Stagecoach and Preston Bus is one that will lead you down a long and fractious road - so we won't bother.

Pictured in Preston Bus Station in 2010 is East Lancs Lolyne Dennis Trident X199 RRN, wearing Stagecoach colours. Soon after this shot, the bus would be repainted back into Preston Bus colours.
