Produced from 1953 to 1955. Only 287 were built. This one is in brilliant condition. As well as having a BMW-derived engine, the grille looks kind of familiar.
The 403 still looking pretty good in Missabe Paint, could use a new herald though. SHe' paired up witht eh LSRM's 193 for a passenger special on the CN. The 403 is one of only two left on the roster still in Missabe Paint.

Zelfs al had ik er al tig foto's van gezien, was dit voor mij een "must see" tijdens mijn ochtendsessie rond Lorch.
De eerste trein die aan mijn lens voorbij trok richting zuiden was deze Flirt van VIAS. De onderneming VIAS werd in het jaar 2005 door de Stadtwerke Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main mbH (VGF) en de Rurtalbahn GmbH (RTB) uit Düren opgericht, met gelijke aandelen voor beide partijen.
In maart 2010 werden de aandelen van de VGF overgenomen door een dochtermaatschappij van de Deense staatsspoorwegen, DSB Deutschland GmbH.
Nadat VIAS eerst instond voor de dienstverlening op de Odenwaldbahn, kwam er later deze Rheingau-Linie bij langsheen de Rechte Rheinstrecke.
Vanaf december 2017 zal je de productkleuren trouwens ook in Nordrhein-Westfalen kunnen tegenkomen, zij hebben namelijk de exploitatie gewonnen van de RB 34 "Schwalm-Nette-Bahn" tussen Mönchengladbach en Dalheim alsook van de RB "Erft-Bahn" van Düsseldorf naar Bedburg.

Good to see another, in the classic blue colour. More modern replacement mirror aside....
The '06' plate is from Alpes Maritimes down in the south-east corner, some distance from where I saw it.
The longest 1000-footer on the Lakes, Paul R. Tregurtha, slumbers at MERC while a Proctor Roadswitch crew with 403 dumps their train of ore at Dock 6.

Cette voiture a été rendue célèbre au cinéma, utilisée entre autres par le lieutenant Colombo (Peter Falk) dans une série mythique.

If this car is from Cuba then it 100% has parts from other cars due to lack of spare parts. I am owning a Moskvich 412 (IZH Factory) and I know allmost everything about soviet cars."

With the prospect of better sunny conditions, I nipped to Hamble on the morning of 12th April to capture a few more of the former Swindon Versas in service on the 15.
Pictured in the Ingleside estate in Netley, here is 403 heading for Southampton city centre caught in a lucky break betweeen the clouds.
