An interior set of windows of York Minister, completed in 1472 after several centuries of building, is the Cathedral and Metropolitan Church of Saint Peter of York, England, and is one of the largest of its kind in Northern Europe. It is especially noted for its medieval windows, with the Great East Window (finished in 1408), bring the largest expanse of medieval stained glass in the world.

It is a small beige brown Sphingidae with a stocky body. The Moro-sphinx has a very long proboscis to forage on flowers, often purple, blue or white, hovering like birds-flies. It generally forages on flower nectar that other insects cannot reach. He is fond of sage, lavender.
Dylan and I joined the literal (and miles long and slow moving) parade of people out to see the Big Boy. The elevator from North Bend is seen in the background.
Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 running through Texas. This was definitely an up close and personal experience!

I had wondered for some time why our melanistic male pheasant kept producing melanistic offspring even though this is due to a recessive gene. Today I found the answer - he has a dusky partner. In 3 years of following him I have never seen her and true to form she quickly flew off when she saw me.
Thank you for all your interest and comments - I was quite pleased with it I must say.
Just a little train resting its legs in Fort Worth. So many people and limited area so I only got a couple of photos. Was nice to get out with the camera again.
On Wednesdays 4014 chase across central Texas a moment of chaos unfolded. After the gates dropped, what I can only describe as a large individual with absolutely zero common sense and respect crossed in front of the train and over the tracks right in front of a 20 person photo line. He proceeded to give the finger to us as he crossed. After the train went by he was verbally berated by many individuals. He then quickly made his exit from the scene. This became what is known to many of us friends as..."The Harwood Incident"
Yesterday, July 30, Big Boy No. 4014 was powering the 2022 Museum Special, a special passenger train from Denver to Cheyenne hosted by the Union Pacific Museum in Cheyenne. This excursion is the annual gala fundraiser for the museum.
In this scene, the Museum Special has just passed under Interstate 25 and is approaching the 41st & Fox RTD station at the south end of Denver's North Yard. The train departed Denver Union Station about 07:15 and is en route to Cheyenne. Photo by Joe McMillan, July 30, 2022, 07:39 a.m.
At 3:58 p.m., September 30, 2025. UP 4014 and 4404 are coming off the Belt Line into Denver's Utah Junction. The Belt Line connects UP's Greeley Subdivision with the Moffat Sub. The train is about to pass under Pecos Street and will continue west on the Moffat for about a mile, then back into the yard on the track at the bottom of the photo for the night. The 4014 will return to Cheyenne on October 1, departing Denver at approximately 10 a.m.
Note the newly installed smoke deflectors on the 4014.
Falling behind 90% of the massive pace line after the Havens stop; compounded by two separate sections of single lane construction areas on Highway 30 meant there was no chance of winning a race to the Columbus servicing stop, so I settled in for a slow drive into town. As I'd planned, I used the service stop to get ahead to Schuyler for my third shot. Shockingly, I was alone when rolling up to one of the signature Columbus Sub shots at Schuyler's twin Wagner Mills elevators. Only three other photographers and a few locals were present by train time.
