Auch weiterhin ist bisher das Wetter ziemlich wechselhaft. Wirklich schöne sonnige Tage kann man bis jetzt in diesem Jahr an einer Hand abzählen. Aber der Frühling kommt ja erst noch und bringt hoffentlich mal besseres Wetter. Immerhin heute Morgen zeigte sich mal etwas die Sonne, ehe der Schlunz von Westen wieder reindrückte. Im besten Morgenlicht passierte die Hupac/BLS 193 496 mit ihrem vollen Containerzug als DGS 40051 den Katzen- und Ochsenturm in Oberwesel
Na Crossrail zou BLS Cargo passeren met een volbeladen Novara-shuttle uit de Europoort. De trein had lange tijd op Koblenz-Lützel gestaan maar na Crossrail werd dan eindelijk vertrokken richting het zuiden.
Op de foto komt de BLS Cargo 475 412 met een volbeladen trein 40051 langs Bopparder-Hamm onderweg richting Italië.

On march 2, 2023, the BLS Cargo 475 412 came along Bopparder-Hamm as train 40051 from the Europoort to Novara.
Uiteindelijk was dit natuurlijk de beoogde locatie in Einigen. De eerste trein die voorbij kwam is deze vrij blauw uitgevallen trein 40051 vanuit Zeebrugge naar Piacenza. De 430 112, 430 115 en 430 111 trekken de trein richting Spiez langs de fotograaf op 7 juli 2016

A trio of SBBC locomotives, 420 332, 11328 & 11341 were at the business end of the GTS Intermodal shuttle [UKV] 40051 from Zeebrugge-Ramskapelle to Piacenza recorded near Kiesen in March 2017.

In het allerlaatste licht van 31 Maart 2020 was het de Crossrail DE6312 die met een goed beladen Busto shuttle 40051 door Nispen kwam onderweg naar Roosendaal en Venlo e.v.

185 576 (Alpha Trains Belgium => Crossrail) + 185 601 - 40051 (Zeebrugge - Piacenza) - Gurtnellen - 12.08.2015
Crossrail PB03 komt in fraai avondlicht met een net niet vol beladen Piacenza shuttle 40051 de L51B opgereden in Zeebrugge (B) en is onderweg naar Montzen (B) e.v. op 9 Juni 2016.
English Electric Type 4 D251 at Cockburnspath, on a summers day in August 1963.
The loco had entered service at the end of 1959, and later became Class 40 40051 - having lost its ladder - and was withdrawn in January 1978, and scrapped in December.
Seven examples - and a cab - have been preserved, and today (2022) these tracks are electrified..
Restored from a faded unfocussed grainy blue/magenta-colour-shifted original..

Looking rather forlorn, withdrawn Class 40 40051 was awaiting its fate sandwiched between some vintage wagons in the sidings at the North end of York TMD on September 15th 1978. The loco had been new from Vulcan Foundry as D251 in December 1959. It's first home was at York (50A), and spent its entire working life of just over 18 years at various Eastern Region depots including Gateshead, Thornaby and Healey Mills. D251 was renumbered to 40051 in October 1973 and was withdrawn as surplus to requirements and in a worn condition, in January 1978. 40051 was consigned to history at Doncaster Works in December 1978.
Typical Summer weather! Always intended to go back to Hitchin on a nice day,rather than the awful one that this was,but never did.At this time there was so much else to go after which was also in decline,the signals came down and the wires went up so the day in the rain was all l got at Hitchin.This was during the brief time that l was using Agfa,quite why l don't know other than it was cheaper than Kodachrome.l also tried Perutz a little later but gave up on them very quickly,the quality being inferior in my view.Certainly my Kodachrome slides have stood the test of time far better.

Dublin Bus (Phibsboro) Volvo B7TL / Alexander ALX400 AV 51 (00-D-40051) in Broadstone Garage, Dublin 5th December 2022..
I had come up from Birmingham with Class 87 87101 and was having a day photographing here as usual there was plenty to see, 40044/51/67/94/96/121/129/155/186. 47438/447/453/514. 86029/239/240/248/257. 87017/27/31/34/101. 81007/8. 83013/15. 85011. 25259. 84003, were all seen. Above is Class 40 40094 running through the station with a north bound freight. 31/08/1977. 87021 Preston to Crewe then 86213 back to Birmingham and the end of a great day out. KC.

Crossrail Br 185 / TRAXX F140 AC2, 185 593-1, heads south at Immensee with a container train (ECS, Tipes, S&R Groupe) heading to Italy. It was probably working 40125 from Zeebrugge to Milano Smistamento running two hours late (although 40051 from Zeebrugge to Piacenza running 30' late might be an alternative)
