Platycodon grandiflorus is a perennial plant which is commonly grown in mountains and fields. It is 40 to 100 centimeters high and has thick roots, and white juice comes out when the stem is cut. Leaves are 5 to 12 centimeters long, with narrow ends and teeth on the edges.
Flowers bloom purple or white in July and August, with one or several running upward at the end of the circle. The flower crown is divided into five branches in the shape of an open bell.
CSX L411 rolls over Bridge 40 near Bank Lick with a pair of ex-Seaboard System SD40-2s in the lead. The last time I was here, I shot 8094 leading the same train (although it used to be symboled J767) over this bridge and got cloud banged, so I'm happy to finally have a decent shot from this angle.
Vor kurzem zeigte ich hier bereits ein Bild des Rangiergeschäfts im Kehler Hafen. Wenn man dort den richtigen Tag erwischt und etwas Glück hat, könnte man meinen, dass die Zeit hier seit 40 Jahren stillsteht. Abgesehen davon, dass hier noch unzählige Gleisanschlüsse bedient werden und nur sehr wenige Gleise nicht mehr befahren werden, lassen auch die Fahrzeuge den Eindruck aufkommen, als würde die Bundesbahn noch leben. Von der (altroten) V100 über die (blau/beige) V90, bis hin zur unverwüstbaren ex. DB V60 ist hier alles zu finden und eifrig im Einsatz.
Am besagten 27.03.2025 hatte ich wohl einen guten Tag erwischt und obwohl ich nur etwa vier Stunden dort war, kamen allerhand Bilder zustande.
Highlight war zweifelsohne der Containerzug, den eine Railpool 186 am Vormittag nach Kehl brachte, ehe am Nachmittag die 212 052 von BM die finale Zustellung im Hafen übernahm. Dabei wird auch die "Schrottinsel" passiert, welche zwischen den Portalkränen einen tollen Hafenflair entfacht und eindeutig zeigt, dass die V100 auch nach über 60 Jahren noch lange nicht zum alten Eisen gehört.
Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle an den Lokalmatador Jerome fürs Mitnehmen und die "Einweisung" im Kehler Hafen. ;-)

Estava escuro. Ele caminhava pela noite após ter conseguido evadir-se de uma prisão à qual tinha sido condenado sem acusação nem direito a defesa.
Com o coração ferido e a alma gelada, resolveu partir sem destino, guiando-se apenas pela Estrela Polar que aparecia de vez em quando por uma aberta nas nuvens.
Brilhava o sol. Depois de uma violenta tempestade a que ela miraculosamente sobrevivera, a alegria pela vida leva-a ao acaso pelas ruas da cidade e arredores desfrutando de coração cheio daqueles pequenos detalhes que passam despercebidos ao comum dos mortais.
Os dias passam. Todos os dias antes de recolher ao seu abrigo improvisado, ele fica a observar a luz do farol distante que trabalha pela segurança dos navios.
E passa ela também. Enquanto contempla o farol, repara nele e mete conversa. Naquele momento ele aprende a sorrir e a sonhar. Sem que o Tempo dê por isso, juram caminhar lado a lado, seja pela estrada lisa e recta, seja pelo tortuoso caminho de cabras.
E é assim já há algum tempo. Todos os anos neste dia contemplam o farol que os uniu e comemoram a vida, ao natural, sem corantes nem conservantes.
