Mal wieder ein ganz aktuelles Foto: heute war die blutorange 1144.40 zusammen mit einem Taurus über die Giselabahn unterwegs nach Wörgl. Zwischen Kitzbühel und Kirchberg wurde der hübsche Mischer verewigt.

CSX L411 rolls over Bridge 40 near Bank Lick with a pair of ex-Seaboard System SD40-2s in the lead. The last time I was here, I shot 8094 leading the same train (although it used to be symboled J767) over this bridge and got cloud banged, so I'm happy to finally have a decent shot from this angle.
Estava escuro. Ele caminhava pela noite após ter conseguido evadir-se de uma prisão à qual tinha sido condenado sem acusação nem direito a defesa.
Com o coração ferido e a alma gelada, resolveu partir sem destino, guiando-se apenas pela Estrela Polar que aparecia de vez em quando por uma aberta nas nuvens.
Brilhava o sol. Depois de uma violenta tempestade a que ela miraculosamente sobrevivera, a alegria pela vida leva-a ao acaso pelas ruas da cidade e arredores desfrutando de coração cheio daqueles pequenos detalhes que passam despercebidos ao comum dos mortais.
Os dias passam. Todos os dias antes de recolher ao seu abrigo improvisado, ele fica a observar a luz do farol distante que trabalha pela segurança dos navios.
E passa ela também. Enquanto contempla o farol, repara nele e mete conversa. Naquele momento ele aprende a sorrir e a sonhar. Sem que o Tempo dê por isso, juram caminhar lado a lado, seja pela estrada lisa e recta, seja pelo tortuoso caminho de cabras.
E é assim já há algum tempo. Todos os anos neste dia contemplam o farol que os uniu e comemoram a vida, ao natural, sem corantes nem conservantes.

It was dark. He walked through the night after successfully escaping from a prison to which he had been sentenced without charge or the right to defense.
With a wounded heart and a frozen soul, he decided to set off without a destination, guided only by the North Star that occasionally appeared through a break in the clouds.
The sun was shining. After a violent storm that she miraculously survived, her joy for life led her haphazardly through the streets of the city and surrounding areas, enjoying with a heart full of those small details that go unnoticed by ordinary mortals.
The days passed. Every day before retiring to his makeshift shelter, he watched the light of the distant lighthouse that works to ensure the safety of ships.
And she passed by too. As she gazed at the lighthouse, she noticed him and struck up a conversation. In that moment, he learned to smile and dream. Without Time noticing, they vowed to walk side by side, whether on the smooth, straight road or the winding dirt path.
And it had been like this for some time. Every year on this day they contemplate the lighthouse that brought them together and celebrate life, naturally, without dyes or additives.

So whilst in Bristol I battled through the Rug Rats to photograph the Lion Tailed Macaque, at Bristol Zoo Gardens. Having a birthday during half term week is an eternal cross I have to bare lol..which is why I enviably have to celebrate my Birthday at the end of February... Oh well, have a fabulous Monday Y'all..😗😚😙

High winds and huge waves generated these big crashing waves breaking over the Peggy's Cove Lighthouse promontory. Taken from across the Bay.
In de laatste week van augustus 2024 heb ik een aantal spoorlijnen bezocht in de driehoek Hamburg-Bremen-Hannover. Al vroeg in de ochtend van 29 augustus stond ik bij Dörverden aan de spoorlijn Bremen-Hannover. Het was een af en aan rijden van goederentreinen in beide richtingen met daartussendoor ICE 's en RE 's. Een van die goederentreinen werd getrokken door de onlangs in de oorspronkelijke kleurstelling teruggebrachte en schitterende machine E 40 002. Deze machine rijdt voornamelijk van Bremen naar Emden en v.v. dus was mijn verbazing en vreugde groot toen ik de locomotief voor de lens kreeg op deze lijn met een volbeladen autotrein en rijdende voor PRESS. Deze machine kwam in juli 1957 in dienst en rijdt al 67 jaar rond met wat tussenpozen van stilstand. In 2016 was ik bij Woltorf de 140 002 al eens tegengekomen met de SunRail-kleurstelling. SunRail is overigens de eigenaar van deze machine.
