31 weeks and seriously ready to pop at this point. Baby is 3.3 lbs and over 16 inches long.
So happy that I'm getting so close to the finish line I can't wait to have my body back :))
Baby Evan I mean Baby Carter ... still deciding lol is 15.7 inches long and weighs almost 3 lbs!
Happy Monday everyone.
He's going to be such a great big brother I can already tell :)
33 weeks baby is just about 4 lbs and over 17 inches long.
Baby weighs 2 1/2 pounds and is 15 inches long. Little man is keeping me up at night now which isn't so fun anymore. :/ and has been nice and snug on the right side of my tummy for the past 2 weeks now. So not only do I have this huge tummy but I also have a lopsided tummy lol.
We got to see the little guy last week Sunday in 4-D and he reminded me so much of Troy the same chubby cheeks and button nose. I can't believe it will only be 10 weeks or less till he's finally here. :)
I sound so bad saying this but we still have not picked out a name for him. I had a few in mind that I liked but I'm having such a hard time deciding :/ . So far we like the names Carter, Parker, Evan, Everett, Austen, and Devin. Leaning towards Evan Carter what do you guys think? Yay or Nay?

Another of my favourite images taken a couple of weeks ago for a maternity shoot. It was really hard trying to set this up with a directional narrow light from the one flash head. In addition to this a fan was required to blow the fabric and an assistant to help as it wouldn't stay blowing for long despite being very light weight. This is the sort of thing I had in mind as I wanted to emphsise fragility, softness, form, shape, and femininity through it. I like the light spill on the top of the bump. To me something here makes me think of whispers and threads of a past that lead to all our presents and heading into a bold bright future - or am I just heading for the assylum? More from this session soon ;)

One of many photos I took for a maternity shoot a few weeks ago. If I don't mind saying so myself I am really pleased with this one. I do think the pregnant body is a stunning shape and should be celebrated through photography, not hidden away under a Kaftan top or something! To think literally days later these arms held a little baby boy! There are several 'favourites' from the ones taken that day but this and another I will upload later are in joint 1st place for me! There's something quite sensual and beautiful about this one. On a technical note it was just one 300w flash head lit background to create the semi sillhouette. A bit of work with lightroom to enhance the light on the face area to finish it off.
It was a stay-home-all-day-in-my-pajamas-doing-chores kind of Sunday, so Oscar lit up the living room to take these photos.
All photos in this series by Oscar Avellaneda-Cruz (www.avephoto.com); all drawings, etc. by me. This week's drawing I made with my (non-dominant) left hand because the carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand is so bad.

I can't believe I'll be giving birth within the next 2 weeks! It went by too fast. So I thought I was in the clear since I made it so far without stretch marks and then the other day I noticed stretch marks on my left side. Hey, having only a handful of small stretch marks instead of how many I could have is still a success.
Playing with self timer...this was at 8 months preggo with Jake
*It made Explore! WAHOO! Thanks yall!!!! :)
44 inches around. It doesn't look as big until you look at it up close. With this lighting you can't see the stretch marks, which means they're thankfully minimal and inconsequential.
Well, rather big, I would say :)
Hello friends, here is my small excuse for not being very active and for concentrating on other thing rather than photography - yes, we are expecting another little member of our family! I am actually 30 weeks along already and look MUCH bigger than here.
We are in the process of reconstruction works at home and therefore we had to move out to live with either my or my hubby's parents for sometime, therefore the photo opportunities are rare :) This is basically one of the first and only pics - hence my homey look and messy hair :)
I feel wonderful and very happy and have one last week of work to go! Needless to say I am happy about it, as being at the office at this stage with pressing workload is very hard...
And, yes, we are promised another little boy! :) So, not my time to have a tiny daughter... yet :)
I've got plenty of stretch marks. It started off as just one and then they began to multiply! But it's all worth it at the end. Need to make room for baby.
After much deliberation and criticism from both families, we've officially decided to stick with the name Calvin. This is how it went with my mom last week:
**Scene
Visiting Mom & Dad for home made chicken enchiladas.
mom: [Greets me with a kiss and hug. Rubs the belly] "Hi baby Calvin! So have you decided on a name?" (I'm assuming she thought it was just a phase)
me: "Yes, we are sticking with Calvin." [side note: for months we have been calling the baby Calvin so it shouldn't have been a surprise]
mom: "Calvin?!" she says in a disappointed tone. "Why Cal..."
me: before she could finish I started laughing and replied in a nonchalant tone, "Yes mom, we are sticking with Calvin whether you like it or not so you better get use to it. Just remember who the parents are. Remember, Grandpa did the same thing to you. He told you to name me after grandma instead of Jennifer, remember? You were reluctant to but you gave in."
**What I've learned from all this: Next time, I'll just wait to disclose the name to family members till I fill out the birth certificate. It's not up for debate or a majority vote people.
