This is the current design for the Astra Rocket, built and tested in Silicon Valley. 3D-Printed in the Inconel superalloy, with integrated regenerative cooling channels running up the bell and combustion chamber. Liquid fuel runs in the purple cap, and around the tapered bottom ring with equal pressure up a multitude of channels running to the top before looping back to the fuel injectors at the top. This keeps the engine from melting from the heat of combustion with no insulating layers needed inside. This particular one, Serial Number 1, was tested horizontally at the Alameda test facility.

It is fueled by Kerosene and liquid oxygen (LOX). The first stage of Astra is powered by five Delphin engines of 28 kN thrust each driven by battery-powered pumps. It is designed to take a 100kg satellite into orbit.

Now in the Future Ventures’ 🚀 Space Collection.

The 3 Phases of Faces.

I just thought I'd pop a pre-Makie-Meet photo of Mushroom up as I finished her at the weekend, and finished her clothes yesterday. The 2nd Makie meet is in London tomorrow and I think we're going to be in for a fun time! I'll blog'n'vlog about it afterwards.

*Reason's to make Makies... one... two... three!*

1. Avatar on the Makie site, designed by me.

2. Their 'made real' gallery portrait before she gets sent to me.

3. My finished faceup (and eye positioning).

Yay :)

Or: Everyone look at this jacked rabbit!

(Catching up posting some of my summer projects. I went a little crazy 3D printing and I really can’t be trusted with any “extra” bodies laying around. I ended up printing a few rabbit heads trying to get the scale right.)

Adonis body with 3D printed head and hands. The hands aren’t attached, still trying to get the scale correct on a hand peg, but I’m considering a magnetic attachment?

I've sanded her lower torso and made some modification on her chest. I have received her new heads and new torso (but I can't take photo right now since my SD card broke -_-')

This is the first time I've spray painted this many parts of a MOC, because of this, the build is quite simple and uses few parts. I wanted to make a Toa of the Green that represented the dangers that lie hidden in the jungle. Her color scheme is technically accurate to her element, it is also inspired by aboriginal tribes that use dark mud as camouflage to hunt, while her blue accents are supposed to evoke an exotic appearence.

Her custom mask was designed by Forge of the Mask Makers and bought via Shapeways.

I set out to take a picture of a simple Wheel for this subject as it is the single invention on which civilisation is built.

However I ended up with this, it is actually 3 inventions in one:-

1 - the wheel

2 - gears

3 - 3D printing

without 3D printing it would not be possible to make this item. It is impossible to assemble it from the 6 separate elements that make up the whole

Custom florescence engagement ring in white gold with diamonds. I really love how this ring turned out.....it makes me want to take on more custom projects! The undulating surface of the design was grown in our #floraform software and accommodates 3 round diamonds within its folds. The design was first 3D-printed in wax and then cast in white gold. Lastly, it was polished and set with gemstones.

This is a light blue or bright yellow version of Ginger Breadhouse's bracelet and ring set. The bracelet features a lollipop swirl and candy rope design. The ring features a beautiful flower.

The set of two bracelets and a ring costs $10 and is currently available in a light blue (that matches Ginger's necklace accessory) or a bright yellow. Other colors available upon request (Gold is pending). Please head over to www.etsy.com/shop/Rayedelsol to order a set!
