skin d.e.e.p. - digital ephemeral epidermal patterns by //benitez_vogl - Margarita Benitez and Markus Vogl's latest investigation in 3D printed exoskeletal jewelry that results in temporary patterns on skin. After pressure is applied to the 3D printed prosthesis it leaves a pattern that resembles snake skin. It lasts for about 15 minutes. In the gallery setup it shows the documentation images as well as the sculptures.
Made a mossy rock with the help of @ianhubertz moss assets. I usually make everything myself cuz I feel like otherwise I am cheating but this took time to not make it look like total turds.

Anamorphic painting at Dubai Canvas 2017
Envisioning looking through the eyes of a child. As a child you engage everything differently, often without any judgement or reflections. Which is contrasted how we see life as adults. The memories build up from earlier experiences are often a guidance in how we approach the world, but we forget how to see without assumptions. I try to symbolize this contrast by balancing in between using toy related images in my art combining with the social discomfort in life. The painting I made is a metaphor for a happy thought you have had as child fantasizing about cars and playing with that. The appearance is a 3D mural painting combined with 3D anamorphic techniques on the floor representing a stack of pimped toy cars still in their boxes, ready to be approached and played with by the audience.

“I enjoy manipulating materials,” says resident artist Pia Larsen. “I’m never really satisfied with the way things are, I’m interested in what their potential could be.” It’s through pushing her materials further and reexamining the world around her that Pia continues to keep her projects feeling fresh.
