In the process of adjusting materials for set of kitchen/cafe accessories. Each material was created individually ,this is quite comfortable if you use an optimized #VRayGPU. The workflow starts with the references and standard approximate settings, but after a few minutes the shaders are filled with dozens of textures and procedural maps. Main attention is for reflections, the Falloff card and Complex Falloff (free plug-in from SigerShaders that is great for metals) with a little distortion are very suitable for them. For imperfection maps real photos (of course, after postpro - tiling, colorcorrected etc) work well. To say truth, the process took me a little more time than I expected. This is the old Bradford & Bingley HQ in Bingley, West Yorkshire. I've always been fond of this old building, seeing it as a Rubik's puzzle shaped oddity, so was naturally drawn to it when looking for areas of interest to work on.
This work was carried out using Google Sketchup for modelling, 3dsMax for texture, material and render and Lightroom and Photoshop to finish off.
