Brevity is the soul of wit

Learning, learning always learning..

The darkness cannot comprehend the light, nor come to it.

The volumetrics can be a serious pain, but I think they turned out okay in this one. The model is pretty basic, but considering you don't even see her face I really didn't need to work on that at all.

I love this track very much btw.

Post-processing can bring significant improvement, when done right.

Unfortunately, there are some out there that hang on to the misguided notion that camera skills is the be all that ends all. I suppose it’s difficult for some older folks who came from the analog era to embrace new ideas or learn new skills such as post-processing.

Even more misguided are those who believe that Straight Out Of Camera (SOOC) JPEGs faithfully represent what our eyes see, this is no different from flat earth society beliefs unfortunately.

All said, I really like the look of this simple image.

Another POV-Ray 3D rendering and I'm sure you're getting tired of seeing these and wondering when this guy is going to blow the dust off his camera. Well, I happen to enjoy this stuff and find myself spending hours to make the details appear in these images.

I have yet to discover the creator of the Jeep Truck, but I'm displaying it in my driveway regardless. Hat's off to the author. The Jeep is another file from yesteryear that I discovered on an old external USB drive I've had for nearly 25 years. I added a track and a few hinges for the garage door.

I also grabbed the fire extinguisher from POV-Rays Object Collection and made a few adjustments to its color and finish. The posters I found on the web.

Since I don't have much time to play games lately (and quite frankly it's way too hot to do so when you don't have AC but can only rely on a fan which tends to throw warm air at you most of the time), I thought I could finally start uploading my own stuff here as well not to leave Flickr neglected (and because in the end I don't think it's bad to just showcase what you do).

I found out about DAZ Studio little over 10 years ago, but I never really managed to use it properly until it got better with more beautiful characters, high quality textures, etc. Last year I decided to start taking commissions and build up a portfolio for professional purposes, so I started to create my own characters with aditional sculpting in ZBrush, retexturing and clothes making. This little piece here is from October (Halloween) and it was obviously a tribute to the remake of IT. I've never been fond of horror movies, but I must admit I quite like the new version of Pennywise.

Long story short I used Genesis 3 as base, played around with some installed morphs to get a nice starter shape and then heavily sculpted over his head using Bill Skarsgard's movie photos as reference. I'm not sure I got his creepy smile 100% right, but I tried. The clothes were also quite challenging because I've never made anything so detailed before in Marvelous Designer and now that I managed to learn even more about the program I can see a lot of mistakes here. The hair was just a quick work with the particle system in Blender Cycles, nothing particularly hard to do nor elaborated. I am currently starting to create my own hair meshes though, so I'll definitely rework this one and polish the model in general at some point.

Usually I tend to do video game characters mostly, but I'm trying to expand my repertoire to improve my skills (and because I have a few important future projects in mind) and be able to reproduce real people as well one way or another.
