A 3D printed prototype shows how the rails on our new displays fit with the corner.

 

Our Industrial Design team came up with the idea of using extruded aluminum with cast aluminum corners. You can think of the design as a picture frame, where extruded aluminum planks are cut at an angle and screwed into cast corners. A sheet metal aluminum back plate is then attached to the frame. This novel manufacturing method utilizing extruded aluminum and cast corners for digital displays is patent pending.

Work-in-progress image of U.S.S. Monitor, as she appeared in the March 1862, about the time of her encounter with the Confederate ironclad ram C.S.S. Virginia. Work remains to be done o the underside of the hull. Deck portholes (12), coal scuttles (10), chimneys, rail stanchions, ventilators and turret awning all removable.

The front wall takes shape as well as the arched entry and bridge across the bay. (Site plan layout by private collaborator.)

The scripts I use don't add extra prims because they are high quality. As a result each piece is only 2 tiny prims yay!.

This Wonder Woman 3D model was created using Autodesk Maya and was rendered using Mental Ray. The scene uses Final Gathering, Global Illumination, and Image Based Lighting as indirect light sources. There are two fill lights in the scene. Currently, I am still working on setting up the skeleton.
