A classic sunrise shot of the Three Sisters from Echo Point in Katoomba. There are normally only a couple of togs there this early but the buses of tourists come soon afterwards.
Been tricky to get great skies here though... either completely fogged out or no cloud like this morning. Still pretty though.
Published a B&W version of this previously but looking again I think the dried grass makes the stripes stand out more.
A bit of an opportunistic grab shot from this morning. Just towards the end of Tory and my 12 K morning run I spotted this and another composition peeking from the fog and my sweat so soon as we got home I grabbed my kit and went back hoping to get there before the weather cleared. I did get a couple of shots then headed for the local butchers to buy our breakfast :-)

Certain photos just have to be taken each year! Haha, dear old Barney's been patiently putting up with me sitting him down to pose with flowers since the spring of 2008, when he was about 18 months old. 15 years - time flies!! He's not always too keen on being photographed these days but was willing to sit with the daffodils we spotted in the park. Not thrilled about the staying still part though - every time I crouched down, Barney would start shuffling closer & closer, wanting his reward right now, this very second!
I can't blame the old boy for his lack of patience - the prospect of tasty treats is extra, extra exciting for Barney right now, due to their sudden scarcity. Since he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in February, Barney's been on a special renal diet kibble. Our vet said that although we shouldn't make Barn's life a misery & he can have still "the occasional special treat", the food does work best if it's the only thing a dog eats... It's been hard for us all but we've significantly cut down on snacks. I think Barney's been *slightly* annoyed with me!! Initially, he thought the kibble was tasty enough to count as a reward but the novelty has worn off & he's not impressed anymore! Barney did himself get a "special treat" when I took his photo :)
It is so nice to see the daffodils out - always one of the 1st signs spring is really here! It's been a long winter for Barney - his old wibbly-wobbly legs struggle on wet, muddy ground, he finds it a strain keeping his balance. Barney's mobility has never been 100% since his spinal stroke, but he'd been doing very well until a month or so ago, when I started needing to provide quite a bit more help again. He hasn't seemed much more sore - just uncoordinated/weak on his back end :( However, thankfully, just in the past week or so, Barney's been improving. We've found a better support harness & the weather has been drier & warmer. Barney's walking better, seems to be regaining confidence & generally feeling happier - certainly pleased to get out to the park & enjoy a potter in the sunshine!
