As we continue to highlight Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we’d like to introduce you to Major Wilson Lee!
Major Lee was born and raised in Hong Kong before immigrating to the United States. Major Lee attended George Mason University, where he originally majored in Civil Engineering. After realizing his passion for public service, Major Lee switched to majoring in Administration of Justice in his pursuit to become a police officer.
Major Lee began his career in the Reston District Station as a patrol officer, served as a school resource officer at Herndon Middle School, patrol supervisor at Mount Vernon District Station, Policy and Directive Change Team, Planning and Research Bureau, Police Liaison Commander, Assistant Commander at West Springfield District Station, Duty Officer, and Commander at McLean District Station. Major Lee has been with the Fairfax County Police Department for over 15 years and is currently assigned as the Director of the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy.
Major Lee’s advice to those considering joining law enforcement is, “Police work is challenging but with challenges comes meaning and nothing worth doing is ever easy. This profession allows you to make a positive impact in your community and leave it better for the future.”

3 Ugly Fish!
Photo taken at the Marine Sea Centre in MacDuff, North east Scotland. I have no idea what type of fish they, but they sure were ugly, and liked lying on top of each other for company!
