Kaiserpfalz Wimpfen

On the remains of prehistoric settlements, the Romans built a Kastell about 90 AD, and in the nearby a bridge over the Neckar. This Kastell is in the 3rd Century AD destroyed by the Alemanni. 300 years later at the same place creates a frankish royal estate and the first church

is built n the walls of an ancient roman past tense. 905, the city was invaded and destroyed by the Hungarians.

Around 1200, the Hohenstaufen imperial palace was built and 1220, the 'Wormser Hof' as the seat of the Bishop of Worms.

During the time of the Imperial Palace have proven the following German Emperor stopped during court days here:

Friedrich i (Barbarossa) Heinrich VI, Friedrich II sowie der König Heinrich VII.

The rebellious son of the Emperor Friedrich II, Heinrich VII in 1235 threw himself to his father here.

After the end of the Hohenstaufen, the Palatinate was temporarily seat of the Imperial Vicar. 1320-1322 there were arguments about the Palatinate, in the course and the plant was destroyed by a terrible fire. Still to obtain in the western facade palace arcades and on the western perimeter.

Three nice suckler calves posing for the camera. Simmental and limousin the predominant breeds. Light fading at dusk for this so even at ISO 1250 and F4.0, I was only getting 1/200th sec.. You need quite fast shutter speeds with the constant movement of heads. Very inquisitive these guys so they don't stand still too long.

Early morning light on some grazing beef cattle. Promises to be another hot and sunny day as the early fog burns off. I thought these 3 made a balanced composition. Grass at a nice stage for grazing and cattle clean and healthy - and also enjoying the good weather. 70-200is on to give a bit more reach as these cattle were a bit skitish.

Sasha ( Alexandr )

On Sunday I was having a photoshoot in the open air. A man appeared and stopped near us and watched us. He was standing and watching for about 30 minutes till we finished and started to pack up. Only then I noticed something moving in the bushes nearby. This were goats. So he was just grazing goats)). I came up to him and he said that it was so wonderful to observe what we were doing. I asked to take a photo of him, he agreed though joking that he wasnt' well-dressed for a photoshoot. He turned out to be a nice man. He lived near the place where we were taking photos. And as we lost the opportunity to take a photo with the goats he proposed to come there once again some time)

► My three kids, from left, Fara (17), Edrin (12) and Sam (15). All three of them are having major national examinations this year, UPSR for Edrin, PMR for Sam and SPM for Fara.

US educational standards equivalence :

UPSR = Grade 7, PMR = Grade 10 or PSAT and SPM = SAT or NMSQT

They are a bunch of "unlucky" kids to have not been showered with money and things; instead, they are showered with only love and care. Who knows, with some untoward twist, they’d have grown up to be spoilt brats if their father was too rich.

Why DSLR?

I didn’t write this in the profile for my flickr account. My initial objective of buying DSLR camera was to take photos of my kids as I felt like missing their phases of growing up years without nice photos to look back at. I needed proper camera to photograph them from time to time. I used to have a filmed camera “cap ayam” (rooster brand – an urban expression for non-branded item) the time when they were little but it went bad before I used it as a ball for my free-throw practice into a mouth of a dustbin.

I came close to buying P&S camera; Canon PowerShot after finding camera phone has got no kick, but decided on NIKON DSLR at the camera shop on the last minute. Stemmed from the initial objective to record the kids’ growth, only later I started to explore on what DSLR can actually do.
