Day 39. Reminiscing.
A bit more classic portrait today. Do kinda like my hair on this one, I got rid of my curls for one day. =)
Strobist info: SB-24 in shoot-through umbrella at camera left.
BS: "C'mon Arnold, just look at the options you got, what we can offer you."
Wskr: "Uhm, I'm sorry mr Needham, but ,ehm, we have to-"
SF: "Ohw, shut up ya dummy! Lemme handle this. Listen pal, we're not interested in what Sionis has to offer. Our buisniss is good enough."
BS: "Black Mask will pay you deeply for your weapons and the use of your men."
SF: "Ya already pay us for our weapons, so does Penguin, now please get out of the factory Spider! You're gonna draw unwanted attention!"
BS: "That attention is already here."
SF: "What the hell do ya mean you bozo? Our security is the best!"
BS: "I've spotted Nightwing, Huntress and Azrael about 10 minutes ago, in this factory."
SF: "Impossible!"
BS: "On the contrary. I presume this could change our deal?"
SF: "How do you mean?"
BS: "Now the location of your factory is compromised, we could give you protection against these costumed freaks. I prpose, that if I'm able to take these intruders down, you join Black Mask in the war against Penguin, if not, what seems unlikely, we'll respect your dicission and leave you alone."
Wskr: "I honestly think we should take this deal, mr Scarface. They could really give us protection, and if we let them use our men, we can win this easily, and Gotham shall be ours."
SF: "Grrr, alright Spider, show us what you got."
BS: "With pleasure."
Azrl: "I'dd like to see that!!"
BS: "AARGH!"
Azrl: "Now Nightwing! I got Spider, you take Wesker and his thugs!"
SF: "Wesker's thugs?! Ya mean my freakin' thugs! Wesker is nothing! I do everything around this place! Now ya dummy, shoot him!"
When Wesker wants to shoot Michael, I throw a batarang and come sliding down. I hit the thug next to Wesker and I hit Wesker in the shoulder with makes him miss.
Wskr: "Awh!"
SF: "C'mon ya pussy! Pick that gun back up and shoot that birdbrain!"
Wskr: "O- of course mister Scarface."
He picks up the gun again and aims at me, while I take down the rest of the thugs one by one. This is gonna be interesting.
Black Spider gets up and jumps to attack Azrael. Azrael counter attacks though and Spider lies on the ground again.
Azrl: "Got enough already?"
BS: "Not even close."
Spider throws several knives at Azrael, but they don't do any harm to him, 'cause of his armor. The Suit of Sorrows I believe it's called. It was one pain in the ass when Bruce and I first fought Michael. I didn't have any experience yet with the Suit of Sorrows, but Bruce had. When he fought the first Azrael, several years before I became Robin. That Azrael was Jean-Paul Valley. He was brainwashed by the order of Saint Dumas, to become their greatest champion. They began 'creating' Azrael, as a replacement for Batman, when he might perish. Valley though became so obsessed with Batman that he tried to kill him, so he could become the Dark Knight.
Azrl: "Nightwing, focus!"
One thug comes running towards me with a baton.
NW: "Woah!"
I dodge him and I kick him in the stumach.
NW: "Thanks!"
Azrl: "Don't mention it!"
Yeah, Michael is nothing like Jean-Paul.
Paneling on the middle section is now mostly complete, though am short a few CMF stands. Still need to do some detailing, as well as some interior, but the outer shell is pretty much complete. On to the rear section!

This mural is on the side of an upper floor of a building. I assume it was painted from the roof of the lower building next to it. I think it’s pretty - but a shame it isn’t in a more prominent place, as it’s easy to walk past without noticing it.
Almost 39 weeks now.
We went to our first ante-natal class about a month ago and never came back.. I was okay with it but Niki was appalled by the matter of fact approach and how we were constantly reminded of pain and tearing and all the things that can go wrong… We felt if things do go wrong, we will trust ourselves to doctors who are there to give us the best treatment. We certainly do not want to be shocked into it.
So, we took up an alternative approach called Calmbirth. In the US, I believe it is called Hypnobirth. I came into the class expecting Niki to be hypnotised into a pain-free birth. However, the classes were very educational in explaining how the body behaves through labour and how the mother can calmly do controlled breathing to managed the discomfort (note: the word pain should never be used, when you are asked how painful, you will focus on the pain..).
Well, we’ll see how this approach goes soon I guess. For Niki, this is a more acceptable approach to labour and I believe a more encouraging one.
As for me:
I have been in hibernation for a little while now and obviously have not done much photography. The last several months of change - moving cities, changing jobs and preparing our household for a new member.. preparing to be a family for the first time.. Well, I hope you can understand photography is slipping to the side for a bit. I hope to rectify that now we've settled down in our little town on the border of Melbourne - this is quite a beautiful place and there are so many opportunity for beautiful photography here. Plus.. there's going to be plenty of baby photos coming up.. Still, I may squeeze in the odd artistic nude photography when I get the time to.

Yeah, I realise this is nothing special, but I was experimenting with the idea of a watermark for my photos. Thoughts?
- Taken with the borrowed SLR. I like the focus much, much better.
- Yes, my real name is Louise. And my middle name is Anna. Belladayys is a long story.
Tagged to do the 'one paragraph about me' thingmy. This is the only other upload you'll get today, so here goes.
I'm seventeen. I can't drive. Cars scare me a tiny bit. I love english literature. I can understand most of Shakespeare. I have to conquer Ian McEwan's Enduring Love over the holidays. Today has been the worst day of my entire year, no doubt. It's a shame, when there's only a week and a half of 2010 left, that I can no longer say this year's been amazing. I have my fingers crossed that everything's going to get better, and that 2011 will be amazing. Harry is the second boyfriend I've ever had, and the first I've ever cared about. (That has nothing to do with today going wrong, by the way) I find red hair a blessing when so many others find it a curse. I've been insulted so many times because of it, mostly jokingly, but there are also some genuinely horrible people out there that use it against you. I'm a summer child, I enjoy the sun. I love winter, but I'm already bored of it, and I'm not really looking forward to christmas anymore. Ummm. I'm usually a ridiculously positive person. Constantly. I smile too much. So I don't know why this paragraph is so depressing. Well, yeah I do. Umm, I'm like five foot four, which is short compared to everyone I know. I can walk in four inch heels over black ice carrying a saxophone. I'm a terrible saxophone player, true fact. I'm from England, but I lived in Germany for a year, with the armyyy. I adore watersports. Going to train to teach people to sail. Errrm, I'm done.
If you read that you deserve a medal.
- Tagged the first people from each letter.

I don't actually know what week I should be up to with DDW, but hopefully this is about right!
It's so many miles and so long since I've left you.
Don't even know what I'll find when I get to you.
But suddenly now, I know where I belong.
It's many hundred miles and it won't be long.
I can't wait.

This little fellow was a gift for our wedding. I actually really like this little fellow.
My wife is using the big camera - so I shot this with the iPhone - Only natural light (and there wasn't much).
I then tweaked the colors and cropped it in Snapseed for the iPhone :-)
I know a lot of people think the iPhone's camera isn't good for anything - but I think the possibilities are abundant. A shot like this proves it, I think. I know there's a bit of grain on the photo - but sometimes it adds nicely to the photo itself.
In the darkness you will find
Dirty little secrets we all hide
Cause we all have a darker side
A place we keep where no one else will find.

Yeah, I changed my picture for the week. Oh well. Read the tags! :D
USSX SW1000 #39 sits at the old Bailey Generating Station (now Mittal Steel) yard along the South Shores mainline just west of the Dune Acres Station on July 26th, 2022. View is looking north from route 12 near the Brown Bag Sandwich Shop. The only info I can find on this locomotive is the model. There is no background info anywhere I have looked. Built by EMD. Just over the hill is Lake Michigan and Indiana Dunes.
