This was my first sighting of a Northern Gannet. In addition to Puffins and icebergs, the Gannet was the third thing on my wish list when we went to Newfoundland in July, 2014. I was told there could be fog in this area but I didn't know it would be so thick that you could hardly see in front of you. Hair was wet after walking just a few minutes and it certainly did not make for clear photography of these nesting seabirds. It was constantly changing depending on which direction the wind was blowing. We were told that they have 200 days a year of foggy weather. The original of this image is in the comment box showing the foggy Gannet. The fog never did clear while we were there but did improve later in the day. Taken in Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve in St. Bride's, Newfoundland.
Many thanks for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.
