Week 38 "Motion Blur / Panning"
This was fun getting out and rolling around on a nice sunny aftrrnoon. Gonna have to try this again with some editing and cloning.

The countdown is on to my august Michigander tour (side note: i refuse to accept the term 'michiganian'). I'm headed to the detroit area to see my girl tattooedyarn and meet my godson sage. And i'm hoping to meet up with a bunch of kickass detroit photographers while i'm there (August 20th - who's in??)
so, i'm a bit of a poser, since i grew up on the west side of Michigan - in a tiny town called Otsego, close to Kalamazoo. BUT, i have detroit people, so that counts, right?

This is where the infamous (Yap, everyone hates it) toronto streetcar draws their life juice: Trolley lines.
I wanted to take photos of these lines for a while.. I'm going to have to do it again later at larger intersection to completely fill the whole photo with crisscrossing lines. I'd look like a lunatic at a major intersection in downtown Toronto, but I think it'd be worth the try.. Until then!

A realitivly rare EMD TR4 (SW7 built in a cow/calf set) leads 38 cars east to Menominee Yard in Menominee, Michigan.

Ford added the Deluxe in 1937 as a 'line within a line' offering upscale features and trim. To further distinguish the 'Deluxe' from the 'Standard' line, Ford gave them unique front-end sheet metal for 1938. The budget-oriented Standard Model 82A cars had a modified 1937-style grille and hood, while the DeLuxe Model 81A, the first to be styled by E.T. Gregorie's new design section, adopted a heart-shaped motif with a curved outline for the radiator grille and separate hood louvers. The sedan body styles wore new bodies with a curved fastback contour. Changes to the interior of DeLuxe models included a revised instrument panel with recessed control knobs and a radio speaker in the center. DeLuxe models added dual windshield wipers, a 'banjo' steering wheel, a vanity mirror in the sun visor, walnut wood-grain window moldings and dash panels, and a locking glove-compartment door with a factory clock.
The Standard models could be equipped with either a 60-horsepower or 85-horsepower version of Ford's 221 cubic-inch L-head V8 engine. The DeLuxe models came exclusively with the more powerful of the two. Body styles on the coupe included a coupe, Tudor Sedan, or Fordor Sedan. The DeLuxe came in three times as many variations, the second most popular of which was the Fordor Sedan.

Can anyone tell me why "38 Days" is inscribed on the Corpach wreck? What I have learned is that she is the MV Dayspring, or latterly the Golden Harvest, and ran aground here at Corpach on Loch Linnhe during a storm in December 2011. Since then she has been a magnet to photographers who have added a visit to her as part of their Highland photography expeditions,
She rests at the northern end of Loch Linnhe, a sea loch that runs past Fort William towards the Irish Sea and the Isle of Mull. We made her part of our itinerary of the recent 3 day trip to Glencoe, and made some new friends while we were there. Behind her in the background sits Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain, although as usual the summit and much of the higher ground is shrouded in cloud. We'll be back in May to walk the West Highland Way for a second time, and to dream of finally climbing Ben Nevis in clear conditions without any flying pigs in sight.
