Found these two GP 38-2s idling in south Edmonton. Lambton Park is what it said on the sign.
Wishing I'd taken a wider shot - there is actually 4 different CP liveries on the 4 locomotives here.
Prussian (KPEV) Class P8 (DRG Class 38.10) 4-6-0 No.38 3999, built after nationalisation in 1923 by the DRE but then sold to Romania where it became No.230 111 before repatriation on preservation. Being restored (thus without boiler cladding) in original condition with short chimne and, no smoke deflectors. 2'2'T21,5 tender. At Darmstadt Kranichstein 6/11.
Taken for April 2014: A month in 30 pictures. En route for the south of France, chasing the sunset. Also #38 for 114 pictures in 2014 group - Dawn or Dusk. (This is dusk - obviously!)

I was wandering and shooting with a few friends all day. Street photography is a tough group activity and by the evening I was becoming increasingly frustrated at not getting nearly the number of frames I hoped for out of a Saturday. While waiting out by the docks this frame presented itself, and while not extraordinary, it had to suffice.

Childhood Cancer is the #1 disease killer of children! 46 children in the US are diagnosed DAILY and 1 in 5 diagnosed will die.
The federal budget for the National Cancer Institute is $4.6 billion. Of that, breast cancer receives 12%, prostate cancer receives 7%..... and yet ALL TWELVE major groups of pediatric cancer COMBINED recieve less than 3%.
"Due to a lack of research funding for new treatments, children today are still being treated with drugs that were developed in the 1960's.... Toxic drugs damage and alter healthy, growing cells in their developing bodies, and many survivors experience long-lasting side-effects as a result of the treatments for their cancer."
"By raising awareness of the fact that childhood cancer remains the number one disease killer of American children, we can also raise the awareness of the need for greater research funding."
These are just a few of the organizations that fund research for child cancer: St. Jude's, CureSearch, MD Anderson, Children's Oncology Group, American Childhood Cancer Organization.
This is a Hallicrafters S-38 shortwave radio, made in the 1940's. I am in the process of restoring it. A couple of friends restored the components and I may do some more work on the case.

I'm not a tea addict but I appreciate to taste a good tea. Last december, with my love we went to Rennes (A city in France) for holidays with friends. During our holidays they made us discover a special edition of a tea shop for Chrismas. We bought it with a another one. Since our return, I taste its tea from time to time.

Je ne suis pas une thé-addict mais j'apprécie de déguster un bon thé. En décembre dernier avec mon amoureux nous sommes aller à Rennes pour les vacances chez des amis. Pendant nos vacances, ils nous on fait découvrir une édition spécial d'un salon de thé pour Noël. Nous l'avons acheté avec un autre. Depuis notre retour, je déguste ses thés de temps en temps.

2012 is the 100th anniversary of bus route 38, and on Sunday 17th June Arriva marked the occasion by running three Routemasters from its Heritage Fleet as 'extras'. These were also joined by an RTL and RTW from the London Bus Company. No fares were charged on these buses, but passengers were invited to make a donation to Maggie's Cancer Charity. A vintage K-type bus dating from 1921 also traversed the route, carrying invited guests. As three of the 'New Bus 4 London' were also operating, the route attracted a lot of attention.
Open-top RMC1464 for the Arriva Heritage Fleet is seen at Islington Angel en-route to Victoria. This vehicle was originally built for Green Line coach work.
