No, I have never posted this before! I shot this back in November and I just noticed I had not posted it before.

This Tody came in so close I was not sure I could get him in focus with my 150-600mm Tamron lens!

Yet another gem from my file of vintage truck slides – This one a sparkling, brand new 1954 Chevrolet 3600 series delivery van.

I am certainly no expert on custom truck bodies, but I do know that Chevrolet would have sold a decent amount of chassis/drivetrain/front clip setups to builders like Herman, Boyertown or Grumman who would then turn out finished Dairy, Bread or Laundry delivery trucks just like this.

Some of the neat detail that I noticed on this truck was the large one-piece windshield, single wiper, and a sheet metal extension at the bottom of the front fender that I presume was designed to keep mud and snow from building up on the bottom step by the door that the driver would be in and out of all day long.

I am not sure where this photo was taken, could be at a Chevrolet testing facility or just a parking lot at the truck-body builder itself. – Circa Spring of 1953.
