It's been a while since I've posted anything for the Scavenger Hunt group that McSummers suggested we join (hint, hint), so I brushed most of the dirt off the bike from today's ride and had a little underground parking shoot.
As I was looking at the bike I realized how "boutique-y" some (most) of my build is - pretty much any part that could be either RaceFace or Syncros are, and what parts aren't are still a pretty select list.
Now if only I could convince myself that the SRAM X.0 grouppo would work better for my purposes than X.7...

This is NOT me who did the decoration :-) But my girlfriend is really good at that - she made two for this christmas! And I like them both A lot :-D

after 15 years of searching, i found "The Big Tree"...there's this whole story about how my best friend and i wandered out into a field one night while stoned out of our 19 year old gourds, and found this monstrous and amazing oak. i moved away shortly afterwards, but eventually came back closer to home. we didn't go back and look for the tree until a few years ago, but had no luck finding it. i never stopped wanting to find it again. then yesterday i convinced her to go search for it one more time, and i saw it. what was once a clearing with a giant oak was now a forest, and it seemed like there was no way to get to the tree without climbing a fence. so, after sneaking through the woods and feeling like a couple criminals, we found a backroad that leads right to the damn thing, and by happenstance met the lady who keeps the property around it. she welcomed us to visit the tree any time, and was nice enough to show us some great marsh-hiking in the area. i felt like i found a little piece of our youth. looking forward to my next visit with The Tree!
