Here's another attempt at layering. I used the "Elysium (cool)" texture [twice] and finished with the "Pure Milk" overlay from the wonderful Florabella Collection.
I'm sorry I haven't been on flickr much lately. I will be off and on, as I am still doing the "Big Purge" in my house. We are finishing up in our home office (nearly 28 years of accumulated papers) and then intend on going through the rest of our house. Every closet, drawer, cabinet and shelf will be tackled. And let's not forget the garage!

I'm having some major problems with Firefox (which installed an update tonight) at the moment... and I can't seem to comment on anyone's photos. The only thing I can do is add an invitation using SOS, which is all a bit impersonal, so I'll try again tomorrow....
Update: I've uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, and there's now a way for me to add comments. It's a long way round, though... so I still can't easily comment on everyone's pics. I'll keep on trying to get it right though!!

Typical scene of social life in the barrio villa esperannza...three generations of one family hanging out together on the street outside their home, watching their daily world pass by and seemingly always willing to interact with "the canadian who came to take photos of the children",. Unfortunately my spanish is pathetic, could fit it inside a peapod, so verbal communication is limited but communication of the heart speaks loudly in any community, especially one of children.1-2-3-4-5-6 children in this image and not a single toy in sight. Wonder if Santa found his way here on christmas eve? Do the kids even know who he is?

NB : Ah, Kathy informs me that President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua decreed that each child in the poverty stricken barrios receive a christmas gift this year. The gifts ran the gamut from barbie dolls to lego sets. Seems Santa found villa esperanza after all :)))

I found several of these little beauties not far from where I live. Some years I have not seen any, so this was a real thrill. There was concern last year that they may be in decline.

There is beauty everywhere, if you bother to look. Took this at my workplace, which has a rooftop garden with an interesting mix of flora. Yes, of course I'm still mesmerised by the sakura I saw in Japan, but this frangipani bathed in the afternoon shower is just as lovely in my eyes.

Hi flickr friends. I hope you are well. We are having a great summer with lots of carefree fun! Only 2 more weeks until school starts and I am trying to spend that time with the children. I am sure in a few weeks, I'll be on flickr a lot more again. Thank you for the e-mails. It is nice to be missed.
