Photographs come in many shapes and forms, but the vast majority tend to have very similar formats. With specialised cameras such as the X-Pan or with cropping, one can create very different frames for their images. Horizontal panoramas aren't so exotic, but vertical ones? I personally don't come across them very often, even though they can be fantastic for tall subjects, such as waterfalls.

Film: Ilford HP5+

Camera: Hasselblad X-Pan with 45 mm lens and red filter

Developed in Ars-Imago R9 (rodinal) 1:99 in a semi-stand process.

Digitised with a digital camera. Positive conversion and levels done with Negative Lab Pro and further contrast tweaks in LR.

I went and saw Les Miserables with my roommate Friday night and discovered I hate musicals. They sang every. single. word.

I'm honestly tired of doing this project. Everyday I go out and shoot, I'm just wishing it was over already.

I'm spent. I have no more ideas. I JUST WANT IT TO BE OVER. Please...

Ex De Blas - 453

I've not had the internet for a couple of weeks, may as well have had no electricity. Still, there was some good light and I got a new lens which I haven't had a chance to shoot with yet.

We decided to go out for a hike this afternoon, and looked at a number of options. I wanted a hike that would take us to a lake, so we went drove to the Sherwin Lake trail head, and began our adventure. About an hour and fifteen minutes later, we arrived at mostly frozen Sherwin Lake. It was a great way to spend the afternoon, good way to get five miles of 'power hiking' in, and the reward was a gorgeous Eastern Sierra beauty. It was a steep hike to the lake, so it only took us twenty five to thirty minutes to make our way back down.

With a 70ACe leading, 329 rumbles across the Mulberry Fork on a fine summer afternoon.

Nothing in Rambling - Andy Twyman & Sister Suzie - The Cock Inn, Leek 24th November 2024

11月24日。雨。撮るものがなかったので、夜になってから隣町のデパ地下にいってケーキ買ってきた。自宅で写真を撮ると、蛍光灯じゃない光源がほしくなる。昼間はまだいいが、夜はねぇ…。

As you can tell this has been on my reserve list for quite some time. This shot comes in the category as usuable but not desirable and I have attempted many other shots of 329 that are actually worse than this. Trust me they were shockers. Now sadly withdrawn after a good 12 years of service this will be the only time 329 can arrive to my photostream as an in service bus. So, here we can see Lothian buses 329 on what turned into a useful route the 19 to Granton at the Dean Village turn off.

an evening full of interesting informations but less time to make the pic of the day

Just over a week after shooting 329 here with a regular NS Ace leading, a return visit was in order to bag the Central of Georgia unit crossing the Mulberry Fork on a fine summer afternoon.

Ok, time for a bit of a rant. I know if there is heritage unit leading in good light there are going to be other fans about (especially if it is departing from places like Birmingham or Atlanta). When I pulled up here at the boat launch there were about 4 other fans about, 3 of which were younger ones that I wasn't familiar with at all. Those 3 need to learn some damned manners. First off they were hollering all kinds of stuff at a couple of guys in a bass boat that were fishing right next to the bridge, basically saying "get the hell out of here." Putting aside the just acting like jerks part of it, I thought the bass boat would have added a nice touch to the picture. I mean I've got slides older than this crowd, but what do I know about taking train pictures? Then secondly, one of them saw my Auburn hat and just had to make some snide bammer comments about it. Anyone with sense in the deep south knows you don't discuss SEC football or religion with total strangers, well except for this crowd it appears.

This is random. I'm trying to get caught up, again.

"329/365... Pompas de jabon!"

SN09 CVK is a Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini new to Lothian in July 2009 as their number 329. It is seen here at the foot of The Mound heading to Hunter's Tryst on service 27.

I saw these numbers painted on the pavement of our local school. I happened to be walking nearest to the negative numbers and immediately was reminded of of all the negativity swirling around me this month and this year.

Then I reflected on the entire year — an entire year of my life. And I was snapped into sobriety. A message, clear as day, presented itself to me in this instance: When you're slapped in the face with so much positive, you only have to change a few things to focus on the positive.

Holy cow, I have a softbox!!!!!!!!!

I finally got myself a lovely little 60cm softbox, and I love it :) I also was able to replace my broken umbrella for $5! Hooray for cheap equipment that I can master before investing in anything better :)
