One of three ex-London Volvo B7TL's transferred to York from Scotland East is Plaxton President LT52 WUJ, seen passing under the city walls at the top arch of Station Rise with service 5 to Acomb - of note is that these and the ALX400's are fullheight bodies, whereas the original batch of ALX400's that York had from 2001 were lowheight and so could pass under this arch a bit easier. York was originally due 4 Presidents, but 32221 was deemed unsuitable. As it stands only 32222 is on the books for normal duties whilst 23 and 24 are in reserve. To be honest I think somebody got York confused with Doncaster when allocating these older vehicles away from Scotland - and if the council does pass through proposals for a Low Emission Zone in the city centre these will be going elsewhere as they won't be allowed in, just a shame that some of the 12-plate Gemini's that Leeds recently got rid of didn't take the short hop to York instead (rather than bringing these Presidents a couple hundred miles down the A1). York may be getting some 12-plate deckers though soon, related to potential changes for the university services.

Het Hof van Bladelin aan de Naaldenstraat in Brugge werd in 1451 gebouwd voor Pieter Bladelin. In deze eerste faze bestond het uit een L-vormige vleugel met een traptoren. Bladelin was de raadgever van Filips de Goede en schatbewaarder van de Orde van het Gulden Vlies. Bladelin was een van de rijkste mensen in de Bourgondische Nederlanden en in 1448 begon hij en zijn vrouw Margaretha van Vagewierre aan een ambitieus project om een nieuwe stad te stichten, Middelburg, op drooggelegd land ten noordoosten van Brugge. Bladelins huis in Brugge werd later eigendom van de Medici's, een machtige bankiers familie uit Florence. In de 16de eeuw werd een tweede L-vormige vleugel opgetrokken, waardoor de binnenplaats helemaal omsloten werd. Vanaf ca. 1829 deed het complex dienst als klooster van de zusters van O.-L.-V.-Hemelvaart. Hiervoor werd o.m. een kapel bijgebouwd. In de loop van de 19de en 20ste eeuw volgden nog verschillende aanpassingen en herstellingen. Het complex werd in 1974 beschermd als monument. In 2017 kreeg het complex een nieuwe bestemming als studie- en congrescentrum van de KU Leuven.

York was originally due 4 Presidents, but 32221 was deemed unsuitable. As it stands only 32222 is on the books for normal duties whilst 23 and 24 are in reserve. Only in the last 10 days has the overbearing white hoarding finally been removed from the former council offices that make up the crescent, these are now a mixture of town houses with apartments - the town houses have sold for 7-figure sums.

One of three ex-London Volvo B7TL's transferred to York from Scotland East is Plaxton President LT52 WUH, seen at the rail station having worked from Chapelfields with service 1 to Wigginton. York was originally due 4 Presidents, but 32221 was deemed unsuitable. As it stands only 32222 is on the books for normal duties whilst 23 and 24 are in reserve. To be honest I think somebody got York confused with Doncaster when allocating these older vehicles away from Scotland - and if the council does pass through proposals for a Low Emission Zone in the city centre these will be going elsewhere as they won't be allowed in, just a shame that some of the 12-plate Gemini's that Leeds recently got rid of didn't take the short hop to York instead (rather than bringing these Presidents a couple hundred miles down the A1). York may be getting some 12-plate deckers though soon, related to potential changes for the university services.
