Een type treinstel in Nederland wat ondertussen ook historie is geworden in Nederland, zijn de DH treinstellen 3100 en 3200. Ook bekend als Wadloper. Deze treinstellen kwamen vanaf 1982 in het noorden van het land te rijden op de nevenlijn als opvolgers van de DE I, DE II en plan U. Deze stellen werden ook op het traject van Groningen naar Leeuwarden ingezet.

De locatie aan dit traject waar deze foto is genomen, is na bijna veertig jaar nogal ingrijpend gewijzigd. Het spoor is op dit gedeelte van het traject van Groningen naar Leeuwarden dubbelsporig geworden. Ook bevonden zich toentertijd op deze locatie nog veel onbewaakte overwegen. Deze zijn nadat het traject dubbelsporig is gemaakt, allemaal komen te vervallen. In een heerlijk voorjaarszonnetje is treinstel 3202 van de NS onderweg van Groningen naar Leeuwarden.
