Die Schwarzspechte sind schon fleißig am Füttern. Links das Weibchen, rechts das Männchen. (Spiegelung - ist nicht perfekt, da die Lichtverhältnisse ständig wechselten und ca. 30 Minuten zwischen den beiden Bildern liegen). Bis sich was tut, vergeht meist eine Stunde oder mehr, bei viel Glück, kommen die Eltern fast gleichzeitig, da müssen aber noch ein paar Stunden in bester Tarnung und genügend Abstand abgesessen werden ;-))

Übrigens, bevor die Spechte in die Höhle selbst gehen, schauen sie sich sehr lange in alle Richtung um, auch immer wieder nach oben. Sind die Jungen noch klein, geschieht alles sehr lautlos, plötzlich taucht der Vogel auf. Später, wenn die Jungen schon aus dem Nest schauen, kommen die Alten oft mit lauten Rufen angeflogen. Dies sind eigenen Beobachtungen aus den letzten Jahren. Übrigens, der weiße Fleck bei dem Männchen am Rücken, ist kein Pixelfehler, sondern eine Ameisenpuppe oder -ei, dies wird den Jungen gefüttert.
