Seen at the New Forest Show yesterday (31July 2024). He was demonstrating a wheat/barley harvesting machine, originally horse-drawn and then converted for tractor use. It was built in the 1930's and he's been operating it since he was 10 years old...

As I mentioned HERE , at the moment an exhibition has been held at the Garden Museum ( Garden Museum Website ), Lambeth Palace Road, London, England.
This exhibition is titled as "the Highgrove Florilegium" and there are 72 paintings by 72 artists at the exhibition. Luckily one of the paintings is mine:-). (Mine is a Magnolia.) Regarding the Highgrove Florilegium, you could read HERE .
It will end at the end of August. Please visit if you are in the area. If you would contact me in advance, I could be there too :-) The exhibition will be on until 8th September.

I once photographed lots of trains crossing the Fifteen Arches, Northampton, but rarely use the location now, especially not in the summer due to excessive tree growth and foliage. However, on the 31st of July 2014, I was here anyway to photograph a boat, and to check out a couple of swims to go fishing! On the way back to the car, 90049 was due imminently with 4L97 Trafford park-Felixstowe, and I guess it would have been rude not to wait a couple of minutes to take a photo.

Another shot of Sixfields stadium being redeveloped on the 31st of July 2014. The main (West) stand on the right is the only stand I have ever watched a game here. Needless to say, I probably watched 99% of the Cobblers home games at their former home, the County Ground, also from the west side, that being the Hotel End.

'Progress' in the redevelopment of the East Stand at Sixfields, is going extremely slow. With the first home game of the 2014/2015 campaign only just over a week away, I can`t see how the old stand will even be demolished by then, let alone starting the new stand!! Never mind, nice clouds though. 31st July 2014
For the first time in my last half a dozen or so early morning ventures, the weather forecast was correct, so some photos could be taken in promised sun, rather than going home sulking and getting back into bed!! Sadly, there were not as many workings as usual, but 321412 working 5K43 Northampton EMD-Euston made a change. Milton Malsor, 31st July 2014

'REEVO' slowly travels along the Northampton arm. This section is a narrow canal that runs for about 4 miles, connecting River Nene (Pronounced Nenn NOT Neen) to Gayton Junction where it joins the Grand Union Canal. The narrowboat is passing what used to be the railway bridge for the Northampton-Blisworth line. A desiro can be seen crossing in the distance, and to the right, the Express lift tower is dwarfed by a fence post! The latter was included in the composition on purpose, but wasn`t sure if it was obvious enough! 31st July 2014.

Bit of a cheat adding this as the pic for 31 July, as we believe that the original photo was taken long before 1943, but this copy was certainly produced on 31 July 1943! It was ordered by a Mr John Gorry, of Derrykearn, Abbeyleix, Co. Laois.
While this is a great shot, it's a shame that the railway workers are obscuring most of the details of the engine. Even with that problem, abandoned railways says:

ok. been in pdx for about a week chillin'. mad house show last wednesday (31july) w/ my pdx faves Hausu. They playin' w/ Sloths, Hoards and maybe another band but i wasn't there. The place was kinda like bigger mansion-version of the Alf House. One of the highlights of the Sloths' set was when everyone was going crazy all of a sudden a mattress coming out of nowhere being pushed into the living room towards the band. Kids started to jump on top of it to crowd surf. The mattress proved useful though at some point as it was moved behind the band to block the view from the outside. Shitty that Hausu only played a few songs before the shut down happened. After i watched the movie Hausu (japanese for 'House')..wacky flick!
