First test shot with the Samyang (Rokinon, Pro_Optic and various other brand names) 8mm fish-eye. Have to say, I'm reasonably impressed with the quality of the optics and pretty solid build of this rock-bottom low low low low priced manual lens. A few CA issues (but nothing I won't be able to sort out with ACR in future shots) and a somewhat less than accurate distance (focus) scale which I'll fix with a left handed screwdriver and, ere..Play-Doh :) Did I mention the fact that the price of the lens is low? :D

The folks who said once I finally saw my Lincoln's Sparrow, I would be seeing them everywhere, were right. Not sure how much of this was a huge year for them, and how much was learning to see them. (Or misidentifying. But between these two pix I don't think it's that.) Yay!

This is one of the sparrows who was playing chase with that Marsh Wren, they were feeding on both sides of the little ditch/channel near the water's edge, the near side was completely covered from my view, far side, a lot of cover for the birds going into the grass too. The other sparrows I identified were Song Sparrows (of whom I have got lots and lots of photos). I was surprised not to see Savannah Sparrows since they were nearby a couple weeks previously, maybe I just missed them, or maybe they were elsewhere.
