Сегодня зря к 12 приехал в институт. Лент не было, преподаватель не приехал еще, с отпуска. 6 курс начался незаметно. Второй день отдых.

Ok, I don't like birds. Well, I especially don't like gross birds like chickens and pigeons. But on our walk back this morning from breakfast in the Marais, I saw this character feeding what seemed like an Alfred Hitchcock scene of birds. I wanted to photograph him with the birds and the Centre Pompidou in the background...but as soon as I framed the shot, something happened that spooked the birds and 100 of them just flipped out and started to fly everywhere. It's amazing anything came out of this shot since I was literal cringing, closing my eyes, and running away as I hit click. But in the end, I think it captured the weather, the strolling (we did a lot of strolling this day), and the setting quite well. After exploring the Marais and it's adorable little shops, we went back to the Saint-German for some good traditional Parisian shopping.
This was the night that we discovered La Perle. A lucky find - although we searched for it with great devotion that night (a lot of strolling this day) - it turned out to be a great destination. Being there, I felt a like we were a part of something - the fashion world and John Galliano, a modest cluster of young people in the city on a Monday night, a little part of history when the diner culture was mainstream... It was all around cool.
